Vivelle dot /Femring or what or nothing??? HELP
Hi Susan!
I hope you don't mind that I've moved your post here to the Hormone Jungle. I think you are more likely to get some responses here for your concerns.
How are you doing on your Vivelle Dot? Do you feel that it is controlling your symptoms? If you're happy with it, my first thought is, don't mess with a good thing. Here in the Hormone Jungle we say if it isn't broken, don't fix it.
There are others who post here who use Femring. Hopefully someone will be along soon to share experiences. In the meantime, you can do a search using Femring as your search term to read previous discussions about it.
Using or not using hormones is a personal decision. Be sure to have a discussion with your doctor and also weigh the pros and cons. You might want to have a look in the Resources Database for more information. The link is under the Hyster Sisters logo, top/left side of the page. Look for the Hormone Jungle - Jungle Resources category. There is also a category there for No Hormones.
If you want to get an idea how those who choose not to use hormones (or those who can't use them) you can read the forum called No-Hormone Desert Oasis.

Hi
Just to let you know --- Of course it is fine that you moved my post .... I didn't know where to put it and well I always go home
Thank you for all your advice and yes I did talk to my doctor and she said I should be on HRT due to the fact that I am so young (I love hearing her say that ) but really she said it was up to me what to go on. The reason I do like Vilelle Dot is that it is easy to get. But I hate changing it ever 3-4 days and the mark it leaves. Yes I do use oil but still.
I do also have some or flashes ......... I am still tired and well moody at times. I could tell when it gets to the ending of the patches life.
Anyway I will also look here for more...
But thankyou again I always support all that you ladies do for us all.
your friend
Susan

Vivelle dot /Femring or what or nothing??? HELP
i have used the femring and i love it. i have not used the vivelle dot. i have used climara patch, estratest, premarin, estradiol, climara-pro. i think femring is the best. the problem for me is that it didnt last 3 months but rather 6 weeks. which is fine except that i cant get a refill for another 6 weeks. the other problem i experienced is that you need to be careful when using the bathroom and pushing too hard while having a number 2. it can fall out. but i like femring the best. if only it lasted longer than 3 months.
good luck!! oh btw, i have no ovaries so my symptoms are horrible

Vivelle dot /Femring or what or nothing??? HELP
I was on the femring and loved the convenience of it but it was constantly giving me UTI's and yeast infection, also if I left it in during intercourse it rubbed my hubby raw. So now I am on Premarin, so I guess it just depends on each individual. Good luck!!

Vivelle dot /Femring or what or nothing??? HELP
I am 44 currently taking estadiol 1mg (no hot flashes or chills) and otc progesterone.I still had vaginal dryness so I tried femring. I did not like it, felt like it was slipping out all the time and had sl pressure like cramping feeling. Stopped that and started using vagifem tablet inserts twice a week. (very easy to use) Dryness is much improved, but still think I am going to ask Dr. for some estrogen cream to use when I need to.
I still have issues with muscle cramps and fatigue, and no libido, probably need some testosterone and stronger progesterone. Not sure how recpetive my Dr will be. I plan on calling a compounding pharmacist today to get info to give my Dr. If he won't listen I wiil find another, because I feel okay, but I know I can feel better.
Good Luck in this hormone jungle. Thank God for this website where we can share all this info.
