Anybody else out there in Public Relations?
Just curious if there are any other PR professionals out there.

Anybody else out there in Public Relations?
I'm a PR practitioner as well. In fact, I'm scheduling my surgery around some client work. I'm crazy busy in June and after that, it gets very quiet for the summer. I'll be out for July and part of August. Finally, a summer at home, but I'm thinking that I should have figured out an easier way to take a vacation.

Well, I've already figured out how to set up my "bedside desk" so I'm only taking about four full days off, and the I'll be working from bed. I work from home anyway, so it won't be too different. Where are you?

I'm located in Oregon. I'm sure that I'll be doing some from work from home during my recovery.

Anybody else out there in Public Relations?
I have to explain a little why I'm only taking four full days so I don't sound like a completely psychotic workaholic. I have a counterpart in Florida (my company is in Palm Beach and I'm in Georgia) who is on Maternity leave and was supposed to begin working mid-June from home, but the poor thing has a really cholic-y baby, soo, she's taking an extra month. But, I didn't want to wait an extra month for my surgery, I'm tired of waiting already. So, four days it will be, and then work from bed. Besides, you know how those "Public Relations Emergencies" can be . . .

I'm a PR and marketing director for a large public college and I can't imagine how I'm going to be gone for any extended time.
I've offered to work from home and both the DR and my boss (who is also a hystersister) forbid it.
What do ya wanna bet the phone calls start coming during the second week?
