Total hysterectomy and allergies

I recently had my ovaries removed after a hysterectomy 8 years ago. Due to my age, I was told I still needed them.... and yet, here I am

Anyways, about a year and half ago I started to have serious allergy problems. So bad, that I had to go to working from home. On March 31, 2005 I had my last ovary removed. Now I am NOT having any allergy problems. I am not even having to take the medication. Also, my acne has totally cleared up (that's been a problem for 23 years).
Has ANYONE heard of this happening? My docs are even suprised. Happy for me, but suprised. And needless to say I am too.

I would appreciate any and all information about this.
Thank you
Heather

Total hysterectomy and allergies

Heather,
My allergies and asthma problems have cleared up considerably since the hyst. I can't explain it but am very pleased. Before the hyst I was always at the doc's office with some sort of sinus infection and in the ER with asthma problems, but since the hyst my family doc rarely sees me anymore. Thank goodness he still remembers me. He doesn't have an explanation for my sudden recovery either.

Total hysterectomy and allergies

Hi Heather,
Funny isn't it? I also haven't had any more allergy problems since my surgery, I was told by a Dr that hormone imbalance can make allergy symptoms worse so I'm hoping mine don't come back since recently I've noticed a few changes and imbalance symptoms. Enjoy being sinus free it's great!!!

Total hysterectomy and allergies

NO KIDDING???? That would be great! (My TAH-BSO is this FRIDAY!) I've been allergic to "everything" for about 7 years, just after turning 40....I wonder if I'll be "cured" too????

Thanks for all of the input. And I am grateful that I am not the only one to experience this sudden wonderful change.

I have had allergy and female problems for all of my life. And now, for the first time, I am pain free and allergy free.

Have a blessed day and cherrish all there is to life.

:dance2:
Heather
