April 19th surgery

I'm brand new here and just wanting to see how the other April 19th girls are doing? My surgery was for a suspicious ovarian cyst. But, everything came out benign and was all ok.
I'm back to work, and doing well.
How about all of you?

April 19th surgery

I had my surgery Apr. 19 too. I also had a cyst on my ovary. I hadn't been to the Dr in 7 yrs. only went because my daughter is getting married July 2 and she wanted to get on the pill and she was afraid to go, so i said i would get an exam too, boy am i glad i did. It was a dermoid cyst that weighed a pound. I also had fibroids. I never had any pain, just heavy bleeding every month that i thought was just because i'm 44. I won't put off going to the Dr anymore. I've done good except for some spotting that i hope goes away soon. Looks like old blood. I'm going to ask the Dr about it tomorrow. I also have the swelly belly with numbness just above my incision. I haven't gone back to work yet. I work as a cashier so i have to stand all day and lift heavy items. I dread going back.

April 19th surgery

My surgery was 4/19 also and at 5 weeks, I am doing ok. Not back to work yet and vbcoach, I have read your post and am going thru much the same thing. I am 40 and feel 80 somedays. Other times I feel great. Tummy is still very sore and I get wicked back aches if I over do it. I take walks and do minor gardening, some chores (nothing heavy like vacuuming or lifting the laundry basket). I still get exhausted by the afternoon and you can find me snoozing on the couch!! It takes time for us to heal and we all heal differently so I am going to go at my own pace and day by day. I did go visit my employer today (dentist) to give him an update and he had me order some supplies that he needed (I am his only assistant and had to find 3 !!! replacements). That made me feel like I was missed Chin up, you'll get there

April 19th surgery

I'm also a 4-19 girl.I'm feeling pretty good except when I over do it.If I'm on my feet over a couple of hours I get real sore. It's frustrating at this stage, when you think you're ok but you have to be so careful. I go for my 6 week ck-up next week , I'm curious to see what the dr. has to say.

April 19th surgery

Hola
I'm a 19th April girl also (I'm 52, but still act like a girl eh eh). Had complete abdominal hyst - everything taken out - 6 inch verticle insicion. This was due to about 2 years of flooding/clotting etc. Couldn't leave the villa for weeks some times as it was sooooo bad. It was awful !!! Been back at work part time since 2nd week but am self-employed and work from home. No pain meds since 2nd day in Castle. Good days and not so good.

I have been having severe left sided pain since week 3, but yesterday and today it has eased off a lot. I have been out with DP (Dear Partner) tonight and had a lovely Chinese meal and a couple of glasses of wine, but we got back at 9.30 pm as I still get very tired. I am not driving at all yet - tummy is toooooo sore and uncomfortable, although the scar is healing brilliantly. Still using my cusion for the seat belt.

I'm making appointment next week for my check up. Can't wait for a lovely soak in the bath and to go in my pool. But must get the all clear from the specialist first.
Bye for now
lol Carol xxx

April 19th surgery

it's so nice to know I'm not alone. Guess I'm just not used to sitting around and asking people for help. I usually work 3 jobs and I work 6 am to 6 pm all week and then saturdays and then i coach on sundays - so this sitting around is just not me.

April 19th surgery

I am too a 4/19er and I have good days and bad days - but hitting this 5 week mark - I am starting to see "some" improvements. Still Big Swelly Belly if up all do - we own our own business - so I have been a bad girl and slowly doing things along the way. Backache is slowly getting somewhat better. Last night was my first night back in my lovely Bed. I have been "couching it" to give my DH a better nights sleep and we have 3 schnauzers (one of them a puppy) so I was afraid they would jump on me at night. Incision is great - but very very tender belly and get those stabbing pains from time to time. I found out early on that Warm Prune juice is my friend *Yuch" but it helps - I posted early on about razor blade bowels. So I don't think I will be "Clear" on my appointment this Friday (early because of Memorial day) but who knows - I think I am still a swelled up mess - but on the mend. Goodluck to everyone - we are getting there

April 19th surgery

Im a April 19th princess also. I went to my 5 week checkup yesterday and the doctor gave me back my driving privileges. im so excited because now i dont have to rely on anyone to get me where im going. And i now can get out of the house when i want to or need to.
Ive been experiencing pain on my left side to. Dr. O said it was the internal stitches. He could feel them when he gave me my checkup. No heavy lifting until my 8 th week. Ive already been bending and moving in ways i probably shouldnt have been because my body tells me...... sore lower back, pain near incision and just plain out tired. Dr. O seems to think my moodiness is just from being stuck in the house for so long. I like to be on the go. Not from my hormones... So we will see..... I have not had any hot flashes. A few night sweats only. I can live with that. So no need for hormone replacement at this time. Thank the Good Lord,.......
Over all i feel pretty good....... Keep looking up it only can get better. Have a great day.

April 19th surgery

Hi all you April 19th Girls!!

Nothing like finding someone who shares a "birthdate?" Sure feels as if we have a whole new life ahead. I had my TAH/BSO here in Trinidad. I am fine now - thanks to this support group that made me feel confident about the whole episode.

I almost feel like new. I am back at work but with two hour lunches (to rest at home!) and this really helps a lot. I am driving full time now and on Saturday I shall be at a wedding - hoping to dance a bit - tried out a few steps and they work still!! I walk between 20-30 minutes per day.

I am 54 years old. I had my TAH because of some silly cells that were fortunately contained!! I must admit that makes living even better! bye for now and much love to all....
