myomectomy or hysterectomy?

Here it is ladies. Ive had three myomectomies and one cc. Now with three golf ball fibroids, i dont know what to do. I would like to have just one more child but I just dont know if the risk is worth it. My Dr. says I should be fine, but another myomectomy and pregnancy seems alot to ask of my poor uterus. Are there any ladies who had multipal myomectomies and gone on the have children? How did your pregancy go? I just wonder is my doctor down playing the risk. I thought the rule was three myomectomies or cc and no more. Am I wrong? Does any one know about this? If any one has any info or gone through someting like this Please post or send me a p.m. I have just one week to let my dr. know what I want to do. I would put everyting off but I'm tired of the pain.

myomectomy or hysterectomy?

Dear torry:

I do not know the stats on how many myos you can have & still have a successful pregnancy, but wanting to try for another baby is a good reason to avoid a hyst at this time

Here is a link to a website that may have more answers for you: www.thefibroidplace.com

I hope you are able to find the right answers soon. I am sending huge cyberhugs

myomectomy or hysterectomy?

Did your doctor say anything about carrying the baby with the fibroids? I know that they grow some during pregnancy (I have a friend who had one that grew to the size of her baby's head by the time she was in her eighth month).

Are the fibroids causing you any trouble or are they just noticeable?

Take care.

myomectomy or hysterectomy

My doctor did say that my fibroids would grow with pregancy. During the one pregancy i had they seemed to compete with the baby for room. My daughter ending up with club feet because the largest fibroid compacted her feet. She had to go through ten monthes of physical therapy three times of week.

My fibroids are quite noticeable but that doesnt really concern me. They cause me to have a lot of pain, bleeding, gas you name it. It has gotten to the point that even sex is out.
