cystocele after tVT...

Saw my GYNO 2 weeks ago for a checkup and left sided pain (that was the bowel objecting to too much fibre!!) and he diagnosed a small cystocele - I had a TVT done in Jan 05 (also adhesions removed) and he said 2 weeks ago he would not contemplating a repair this soon as it would wreck the job being done by the TVT and my USI would possible return - he said the cele may not get any worse or it may. He didn't give it a 1 or 2, just said it is there - I can feel it when I investigate but it doesn't bother me otherwise. Intercourse is not painful and it doesn't seems to interfere with weeing or BMs. I guess the motto is "if it aint busted, don't fix it!". Anyone else have this happen or have any input please.

Cystocele after TVT - part 2

I forgot to say in my previous post that my cystocele is located right at the sight of the tVTape, which is why the gyno is saying he doesn't think operating would solve anything but cause more problems like a return of SUI. Opinions please!

cystocele after tVT...

Hi,
I had prolapses for years before I decided to do something about them. They weren't bothering me, so I wasn't bothering them.

If your DR says to leave it alone and it's not really bothering you, I think your motto says it all. You may go years, or even the rest of your lifetime, without needing to have it fixed.

cystocele after tVT...

Hi

I was diagnosed with a small cystocele at my preop appt for my rectocele and enterocele. My gyn didn't fix it during my repair surgery. I was supposed to get a tvt then, but the urologist wasn't avaliable. My gyn said we would just keep a eye on it. I am guessing he did n't want to repair it, then have the tvt later. I am now scheduled for the tvt July 15th, but have scheduled a pelvic floor evaluation for July 12th by a uro/gyn who specializes in pelvic floor problems. I don't want to have the tvt, then need another surgery later. This will be my last surgery, unless something terrible happens down the road.
I could probably live with the cystocele for years, but since I am having the tvt surgery anyway I would want it fixed now if need be.

Thankyou for your reply Ashley - yes, I agree, if it isn't bothering me I don't intend to do anything about it until I need to. I've had 4 surgeries in less than 2 yrs so I think my body needs time to heal and adjust. Thanks again, and hopefully I will NEVER need surgery again - at least not for this area of my body!! Love and blessings...........
