DH has a cold - less than a week to go!

Help...this is starting to get surreal.

DH has just come down with a cold, stuffy nose and chest congestion. I haven't caught it (yet).

Surgery was scheduled for Monday June 6 but they are thinking about moving it sooner, to this Friday.

Will they let him come to the hospital with me? I don't have anyone else to be with me and I can't do this alone!

What if I catch the cold? Isn't it awful enough with the incision and recovery without having cold symptoms & coughing and sneezing too?

I'm afraid they'll make me have the surgery even if I'm sick and DH can't come with me!

Get out the lysol and spray everything he touches down.

Tell him no more kisses and to wash his hands often!!!!!

Do everything you can to keep from catching his cold.

Also start him on vitamin c and chicken soup try to get his cold gone before surgery. Any other over the counter medicine that seems to help him get him started to relieve his symptoms.

I know sounds drastic but if you don't know if it is contangous or not why not protect yourself some from getting his cold. Even consider taking him to the doctor to ensure that there isnt some antibiotic that might help.

Colds always seem to come at the wrong time don't they.. Must be something to murphys law.

Oh yes, I'm not even letting him be in the same room with me if possible...just when I need his support the most.

Lots of hand washing.

And I've got him taking this Cold FX stuff we have in Canada - a new ginseng-based pill that is supposed to be very good at stopping colds and flu in their tracks.

I hope it works...it's supposed to be way better than vitamin C or echinicea.

sigh..what next? I feel like I'm using up 10 years worth of bad luck in two months!
