ablation

Hi, I am new to board along with being new to my situation. I had an ablation done on Friday. The surgery and the recovery is going fine. However, emotionally I feel like I am on a roller coaster. I am going thru crying spells and mood swings. It this normal? If so, how long does this last. I still have my ovaries, so I am not sure why the mood swings.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks is advance.

Oh my goodness I am not crazy someone else has the moody blues. I am getting a little better but when the moody swing hits it is a home run. I can be very sensitive one minute the next minute I can be a royal pain in the dairy air.

My Dr. tels me that I should not feel this way because I have my ovaries. I totally disagree with him of coarse. I told him just because it is not in your text book that does not mean these feelings do not exist.

Can you tell what mood I am in now.

ablation

Hi Ladies,
I had the ablation done in Feb due to excessive bleeding (probably fibroids). Each month since, I've had a very heavy period, like I had before the procedure. I went back to the Dr and she said that my best alternative was the hysto. I'm scheduled for the 22 June.

I don't recall mood swings, but the recovery from the ablation took longer than I thought it should. I was still bleeding quite a bit, and very uncomfortable for a while.

Hope your experience is better than mine.

I think if you will go to the EA board mentioned by twysmilng you will find it's pretty common to be a hormonal mess after EA. It seems to last a couple of months and then get better especially if your EA was successful. It seems the ovaries are missing their cohort (uterine lining) and it takes a while to balance out. We have also discussed that our uteruses have a lot to do with our hormonal balance and having an EA disrupts that.
