I really dont' want to admit that I am depressed

This is hard I had a TAH Dec 96 due to fibroids forutanely I got one child. I then had both ovaries removed Nov 03. I should be happy that I got at least one and i married a man who did not mind I could not have anymore. But lately I feel as though my whole world is just slowly slipping away and I have no control. I have always been in control and to admit that I am depressed feels as though I am losing it. I can't sleep and that makes me tired, I am more moody and upset very easy on things that never would have bothered me. I just don't want it to be put officially down on paper, I guess that is pride. I hopefully will get up the strength to go and get help.

I understand where you are coming from. I had a hyst on 4/11/2005, went for checkup at 4 weeks and did nothing but sat and cry in the dr's office, he asked me all kinds of questions and then told me I had clinical depression. The dr put me on Lexapro, the first day I was nauseated and each day got better, a few days later I started feeling good. Today I can honestly say I havent felt this good in along time, which makes me think I have been depressed for quite a while. You need to go to your dr and let them know how you are feeling and let them help you. Life is too short to be miserable. I will keep you in my prayers and pray that you take the first step to get some help so that you can feel better, not only for yourself but for all of your loved ones..

Hi there daniey12!

There is an article in our Post-Op Hints about depression that I think may be helpful to you:

http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/hsa...p?s=&id=192558

Since your oopherectomy in November of 2003 have you been taking HRT? As the article above mentions, many times that can help alleviate anxiety and depression from surgical menopause.

I take both HRT and Lexapro and that system works well for me. The main thing you need to do is take the first step and make a doctor's appointment. There is so much help available, and you are short-changing yourself if you don't take advantage of it. You deserve to be the best "you" that you can be.

Don't suffer any longer. Please make that call and start the ball rolling so that you can feel better.

s and Best Wishes,
