Daily Headaches Anyyone?
I either awake with headache or get one as the day goes on. I currently wear the weekly Climara patch and just don't know if I'm getting too much or too little estrogen. I read that some people cut their patches in half, though it says not to in the patient information.
Does anyone have advice to offer on this? I live overseas in Japan. My sister is an acupuncturist and is sending me a few things she feels may help, including Dr. Lee's progesterone cream, but mail takes a while to get here. I'm taking the highest dose of Climara, and am wondering what other doses people are taking, if they've done some tweaking on their dose what seems to be working?
Thanks !

Daily Headaches Anyyone?
I have the same headache problem you describe and saw my doctor yesterday. She said that headaches are usually due to too much estrogen or hormone fluctuations and reduced my patch to .05. It's too soon to know if this is working, but I think my headache was not so bad today.
As I've said on other postings, this is confusing, because some websites say that headaches can be the result of too little estrogen. My doctor did a lot of "detective work" and asked me lots of questions, so I can only recommend that you work with your doctor to find the cause. Good luck!

headaches...
Jbuckeye,
Thanks so much ! Sounds like you have the same problem. I'm wondering what dose you were taking before you were lowered...I took the plunge and cut this weeks patch in half, I definitely feel like it's different, but as the day goes on I am getting that sense of pending headache. I feel I am getting too much estrogen, just instinct I think. I appreciate your advice and am hoping that we are both soon headache free !

Daily Headaches Anyyone?
Hi pharmtech
Headaches can be from many different things when it comes to hormones. Some women can get them from too much estrogen, some from not enough estrogen, some from not enough progesterone. For me I get a headache if my estrogen is low. Here is a list of symptoms you may experience with low/high hormones.
Too Much/Too Little
If you do not have any other symptoms of too much estrogen then perhaps it is not enough.
I hope you can find relief soon!

Daily Headaches Anyyone?
Hi Pharmtech,
I was on .1, then lowered to .075, and am now on .05. The headaches are definitely better, but not gone yet. This is my only complaint post-hysterectomy, so I hope it clears up fast!

Daily Headaches Anyyone?
I too was experiencing severe headaches. My doctor prescribed Nortriptyline 10mg. I am glad to say I haven't had one headache since. I am taking Estratest HS for my menopausal symptoms. I had a hysterectomy back in my 20s where they had removed the uterus and left my ovaries. I am now 46 and for the first time in over a year am starting to feel like my old self.

Daily Headaches Anyyone?
Thanks all for the great advice. My doctor just changed my Climara patch to .05, I'm hoping it does the trick, sooner than later ! I can handle a lot of things, but a constant headache is not one of them.
I have Dr. Lee's progesterone cream on the way as well....hopefully it will add some support to the estrogen and headaches will become a thing of the past (?) !

Headache
Hello all,
I had a TAH on 5/24 so I am 3 wks post-opp today. I am having the same type of headache. I am on 2mg of Estrace. Not sure either which it is too much or too little estrogen. I am going to put in a call to my Dr. today and see what he thinks.

headaches
I have suffered from daily headaches and chronic migraines since I was 14. Just had a TAH for endo May 16, 2005. I am hoping that it will also help my headaches. I have read another post where a lady is going to have a Hyst for migraines, if lupron (lowers estrigeb levels) helps. FOr her lupron is making her headaches better but it makes mine much worse. Just like some of us else felt great when we were pregnant and some felt worse. Everyone is different. You just have to be patient and let you body heal and find it's new normal and see what works best for you.
Good Luck believe me I know how you feel!

Headache Update
Hello Sisters,
Well I finally spoke to a Nurse Pract. about my headaches. My Dr was on vacation last week. She thinks my 2mg of Estrace was too strong and that was what is causing my headaches. So she lowered my dosage to 1mg. So waiting to see. I was afraid HRT would be trial & error for me.
Oh well, NO MIGRAINE yet. Thank the good LORD above!!!!!
