What is Curves?

Hi there,

Curves is a Gym for Women to work out in. They keep it women only so that we will feel more comfortable with the surroundings and no men stare at you while you are exercising and make you feel uncomfortable. I do not go there, I was going to the military gym close to me, but I have heard good things about Curves.

I hope this info helps you.
Kristi

What is Curves?

I've been a Curves member since January. I had my 4 years ago but have problems with my right knee due to an arthroscopic surgery I had in 1985. I also have various aches and pains that feel flu-like and that I suspect to be due to FMS. Curves has not only not aggravated my symptoms, it also helps relieve the pain as the exercises are gentle enough.

Curves uses a circuit alternating hydrolic stations and "recovery" stations. The hydrolic stations are, for the most part, double-positive and "YOU" control the degree of exercise. The recovery pads are used to step and to allow your muscles to recover.

The system works this way: the workouts are 30 minutes work-out. You start your work out on a recovery pad then, every 30 seconds, you are told to change station. At the end of your work-out, there are gentle stretches. You need to go at least 3 times a week, for optimal results but I try to go 5 times a week.

What is Curves?

((((Ramona))))) you'd be amazed at what is available in some small town, these days: my family still live in my home town, 2000 population. They now have: a KFC, Tim Hortons (canadian doughnut chain), McDonald's with a Play Land, Burger King, Canadian Tire (huge hardware chain), etc. etc.

They had a PACE (similar to Curves) open up a year ago and they have a Curves opening soon.

So it may be worth you while to check this out

Talking - What is Curves? What is Curves?

They just opened a Curves 6 blocks from my home in January 2005. I love it. On nice days I walk there to workout which helps with the exercise I need.
I have found that it is difficult for me to keep or get the weight off just by watching what I eat after I had my hysterectomy 1 year ago today.
Curves has been a sort of theraphy for me after the difficult year I have had with my surgery, cancer battle and death of my baby sister, and my fathers cancer returning.
I found that I am very comfortable there and have been able to keep my weight down.
There are a couple of the machines that I do an alternative exercise when I get to it during the rotation. I have 8 pins and a plate in my leg and ankle. Curves will take into consideration any weakness or injuries you may have and work around it.
