i am on estradoil patch (climara generic) which seems large. plus only 2 areas to place it what are the sizes and brands of some ofthe other patches out there that you are using mine is about 3+ inches circular and can only go on buttocks or stomach area
I use the Vivelle Dot. It's a clear rectangular patch which measures about 1" by 1 1/2". It's changed twice a week. Vivelle is prescribed to wear on the abdomen, but I wear mine on my rear because I get better estrogen absorption back there.
It's okay to change the patch from one side of the abdomen to the other, or one side of your rear to the other, but you shouldn't change from front to back because you can end up with hormone fluctuations that way.
Im taking Menostar, it is about the size of a dime, adheres very well only needs to be changed once a week, and delievers 14 micrograms of estrogen daily. The information in the packet says to place the patch on your lower adominal area, but my doc says the butt is okay too. Were you having trouble with the application sites, or just wondering????
I use the Climara .05 patch which is about 1 inch oval shaped. It is very thin and clear. It's changed weekly. The generics are usually bigger and thicker. My insurance wanted me to use the generic because it is cheaper. My doc feels the brand name is better and writes the script " Dispense as written - no generic".
I've been fortunate and have had no problems with Climara.
