Anyone with incontinence after TVH?

Hello all,

I'm new to the site...had my TVH on 5/18/05. Was doing good (except did too much too soon) until Friday PM. Started having urinary incontinence really bad. Thought it was just a clear, odorless discharge at first (and me a nurse!!) Finally figured out it was urine Sunday when it started smelling like a UTI. Anyone else have incontinence with a UTI??? Doctor's nurse said it can happen, but is uncommon. Called me a script for Macrobid in to the pharmacy. She said if that doesn't clear up the UTI and the incontinence, call for an appointment. It really is bothering me.

HELP!!!!

Anyone with incontinence after TVH?

I had a LAVH on May 19 and had an UTI about a week ago, but no urinary incontinence. My doctor put me on Macrobid and it took care of the infection quickly. Hope you feel better soon.

urinary incontinence

Hi there, I know how you feel. I'm 6 years tah, and also a nurse. I've been having leakage after intercourse, and now with all the walking i do at work i'ts pretty annoying. I've been to obgyn. upon finger exam she could feel my bladder. that told me it is not where it should be. however, the dr not willing to do surgery or much of anything yet. Should i get second opinion? Good wishes sent your way. GOD BLESS YOU.

Yes !!!!!!

I had a TVH 3/22. I had incontinence before the hyst. Thought removing all the 'stuff' that was falling out and the tumor that was pushing on my bladder would help it...

After hyst a good laugh, cough, sneeze and I would leak. I bought incontinence panties..and told the DR.at 2 week check. He told me to wait awhile...that my bladder needed to 'settle back in'.IThe DR. did a check for UTI....I did NOT have one.

I did lots of kegels. Now at 11 weeks today {Yippee} I have no more leaks at all.

kynurse05-if my doctor could feel my bladder with her finger and didn't want to do surgery, I would DEFINITELY get a second opinion. Maybe a urogyn or urologist. I too had stress incontinence before surgery with laughing, coughing and sneezing. Nothing really bad though. The incontinence I'm having now is terrible. Without extra heavy duty ultra absorbent pads, would run down my legs. I have to use a Depends at nite.

Waldo-Kegals are a good idea. Will start them. I'm just afraid my bladder is gonna just fall out without my cervix to hold it back!!
