Bowel problems????

OK, so not to get too graphic, please tell me that there are other sisters who feel like having a BM is a major event these days....I am so hoping that after my surgery this will get better.....the cramping, pains......several trips to the bathroom.....not sure how to describe it.....feeling of constipation....having diarrhea ....and oh...the hemmroids that are bleeding....throw in a bit naseau...I am actually getting to the point that I do not want to eat ANYTHING.....soup and crackers are the only things that do not cause the above symptoms....I am not sure if it is nerves, anxiety, or the fact that my uterus is taking up too much space....

Sorry to be so graphic but it is only getting worse and in need of some reasurance......

Bowel problems????

Oh yeah! Giant uterus and no room for anything else! I'm with ya, sister!!

Here's a question for the princesses: When you do the enemas...does everything come out fairly liquified???? I'm not so sure it CAN come out any other way!!!!!

Bowel problems????

Hello
I was the same way. It has been awful. About 2 weeks ago I started drinking about 8 oz of prune juice (yuck) every night before bed and I can't tell you how great this has worked. I had such problems w/ pain and bleeding that nothing worked. I bought all the expensive fiber pills and all that. I have gone to the bathroom every morning since drinking this and I feel soooo much better. My mom also has bowel issues so I told her and she said it's working better than anything she has tried.

Bowel problems????

I had chronic bm problems for years, but things have improved quite a bit since my hyster. The terrible bm pain has improved about 90%. I'm just now approaching the 9 week mark, so I'm not sure what my long-term outlook will be, but I'm keeping a positive attitude about it. Best of luck to everyone. I hope that *everything* improves for you!

!!

I couldn't go for 6 days and could feel back up in my throat.
When I was able to have a bm I noticed that there was something sticking out that should not be!

I wen't to the hospital and they gave me a boxed enema to use at home. I got water and chunks that was it. The other carbonated drink stuff they gave me did not work. I just eat a lot of fiber and take peri-colice to keep things moving along !!

sure am happy to have some bms now!! I am crowded down there though pains in my hips lower back and bloated like a puffer fish.

Bowel problems????

Thanks for the imput all.....not to wish this on anybody, but it sure feels good to know you are not alone.

One week from tomorrow and the waiting is over....took a pampering day today...went shopping..something that I never do, but it did feel good. Although shopping for the visit to the castle I wasn't really thinking about the surgery, cleaning, kids, etc......It was a nice diverstion......

Thanks for the postive outlook that this surgery will help this problem.

Bowel problems????

I came home from the castle Thurs. afternoon - I was able to pass gas but had not had a BM since the Sat before. I finally started going yesterday - It took stool softners and milk of magnesia and a lot of thinking...ha ha

If you have a problem now, try to get it under control before your surgery - your bowels don't wake up as quickly and you would like them to some times.

Good Luck!

Bowel problems????

Thank you for bringing this up! I have had problems with my bowels for a while now but I just thought it was ibs or something like that. I would go from diahhrea to constipation and then back to normal in a heart beat. I wasn't eating anything different or drinking anything different. I didn't consider until recently that it might be the enlarged uterus pressing on my intestines. I think we are all going to spell relief h-y-s-t-e-r-e-c-t-o-m-y very soon.

Bowel problems????

Hey Boopa!

Some people have told me they make a "cocktail" of prune juice and orange juice. I've never had to try it, fortunately. You might try it to see if it helps with the tast of the straight prune juice.

Just a suggestion.

thanks for the tip

Thanks for the suggestion LAMiss. I can't even tell you how much the prune juice works. I will definately try the OJ mixed in. I have 8 days left and then off to the castle for me and hopefully that will help. My uterus is stuck to my rectal wall so I'm thinking once it's removed my bowel troubles will go away.
