Bladder control

Thanks to those who replied to "first hotflash". I have had increasing urgent and frequent bladder problems over the past several years after the birth of my second child and an increase in blood pressure med. Since my hsyt it has been getting worse. Yesterday I wet myself twice at work! My doctors have tried a few meds and I recently was put on a new bladder med that seemed to be working better, but if I pick up bp med after skipping a day - nothing seems to help. I am in total denial about wearing depends but after yesterday . . . I am 48 years old and pretty busy all the time- away from home. It is very difficult for me to maintain my water intake because that triggers more frequent urination. I am starting to get really depressed over this. Anyone else dealing with this problem?

Bladder control

My OBGYN put me on Detrol last week because I was having bladder spasms and incontinence. It seems to be working pretty well. He is going to have me take if for 30 days and then see how things are after that since it is just 10 wks after my HAV. Hope you can find something that helps. I found that the Poise Pads work nicely without drying you out.

Bladder control

I tried the detrol and something else (forgot), but I ended up having a surgical procedure to repair my bladder. They did a TVT a year before my surgery and it had really improved the quality of life. I was changing pads 3 times/day.
My only regret was that I didn't have the two surgeries at the same time....but at the time, i didn't know about the hyster.

Bladder control

I've always had bladder problems, and I still have a great deal of incontinence, now six months out from my hyst. I'm only 23 and I have to wear Depends! Can you imagine!? But I'm learning to deal with it. I also had a procedure about a year and a half ago called a presacral neurectomy (removal of my presacral nerve, which is connected to the bladder, hence I have no real feeling or signal) but anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone!
