A minimally invasive hyterectomy option: Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy

Here is a reference some of you may be interested in concerning Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy. This procedure consists of a camera placed inside the belly button, and 2-3 small scars around the hipbone area. There are no large incisions in order to reduce the chance of infection.

The following study states that of the 437 women studied, the average length of stay in the hospital was 22 hours, and the average return to work was 14 days. 22 of the 437 women (4%) had complications of any kind, 415 (96%) had no complications.

Thanks for the info, Torrie

As a prolapse victim, I was not a good candidate to keep my cervix (and post-op report showed that even MORE clearly ).

I hope you are recovering well
