The butterflies are begining

My surgery is in 3 days, and the butterflies are begining to swarm in my stomach. My dr. will begin the surgery as a LAVH, with possible TAH if the endo scaring is to bad. She is also undecided on the overies, definetly 1 is being removed, but undecided on the other. I wont know what has happened until i wake up. Another Dr did my laperscop 4 years ago. I have been on lupron for 4 years. Its time to get this surgery done, but i am scared and excited (to have this garbage out of me) at the same time.

The butterflies are begining

Hi,
I know what it feels like to be totally scared!!! I was terrified to have the surgery!!! It was all I could think about !!! I was certain I wasn't going to wake up from the anesthesia or there would be some major mistake made or something!!!! I had put the surgery off for years & years I was sooo scared!!!!! All I can say now, at 11 weeks post-op, is that the anticipation & worry was worse, for me, than the actual surgery was!! I'm not saying that the recovery was fun, but I had worked myself up so much in fear & anticipation that was all I could think of! I must say, everyday I am thankful that it's all over though!!! No more worries, no more periods--hurray!!!! I know it's hard to realize now, but once it's over, you will be thankful that you went through with it. I wish I could say something to ease your mind, but I know you just have to go through it, just know that soon it will be over, and before you know it, you''ll be in recovery and hopefully all the worry, pain & fear will be behind you! Trust me when I say, there will be brighter days ahead! I wish you all the best! Take care, zanylynn

The butterflies are begining

I'd like to echo zanylynn's comments. I was fine until about a week before surgery when my HR manager gave me her "horror story". Then I started to get totally anxious, I was irritable, etc. But there was one thing I kept remembering and one thing that brought me back to reality and it was what I had read over and over on this site: "The waiting is the worst part!" All those hystersisters couldn't be wrong! And they were absolutely RIGHT. So when your fears and concerns start to get the best of you, just remember that after it's over YOU will be the one telling others, "The waiting is the worst part!"

Take care and best wishes -
Lisa

The butterflies are begining

I was a nervous wreck up to the day before my surgery then I had such a calm come over me. It helped to have many people praying for the surgery. As difficult as it is try to relax. The worst part if the waiting. I was in pain when I woke up but the pain meds are wonderful. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I am only 3 weeks post-op and feel better than before the surgery. My anemia is getting better and I have begun to have energy again! IT is wonderful! Good luck and take care! You will be a princess before you know it.

The butterflies are begining

You've already taken the first step towards curing those butterflies - coming to Hystersisters. Read every post on the pre-op, hyst stories, and post op boards. That helped me a lot and good luck!
