Do vivelle dots run out of estrogen sooner sometimes?
Hi Ladies - I haven't posted for a while because I have been doing well - but have a question now.
I change my vivelle dot on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Sometimes I feel like on Friday I'm at the end of my estrogen...I'm getting hot flashes, and tense and headache. Maybe it's cause the kids are now home from school!!! Should I change it a day early or wait until my "scheduled" day. Anyone else have the patch run out a little early - or possibly a defective patch?? ha ha
Thanks,

Do vivelle dots run out of estrogen sooner sometimes?
HI Kat
Some of us do find that our patch "burns out" before changing time. I have found that an exact 72 hour change schedule works better for me. I checked with my doctor said she said it would be okay for me to change a bit earlier than what is recommended in the directions, which is a 3 1/2 day schedule.
You might want to run it by your doctor and ask about going to an exact 3 day new patch schedule (instead of 3 1/2 day schedule) and see if it helps.

Do vivelle dots run out of estrogen sooner sometimes?
Hello Kat,
I am on the Vivelle .05 patch and my replacement days are Wednesdays and Saturdays. I notice when i go from Saturaday to Wednesday, which is the longer time frame, I start having minor hot flashes and I start to have some insomnia the night before it is due for changing.
Now from Wed - Sat, no problems. Cannot figure it out. But is it getting better. The first week I was on it, was so strange. I was getting regular hot flashes and could not sleep for more than a few hours at a time. It is much better now, thank goodness!
Just wanted to share my

Do vivelle dots run out of estrogen sooner sometimes?
Hi!
I change my patches on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings and have noticed that some weeks I feel a bit tired and low on Tuesday evenings & can feel a bit worn down first thing Saturday mornings -- no hot flashes or anything and it's not every week. I've wondered myself if sometimes my uptake is just a bit higher than others.
Sandiegokc, you may want to consider changing your schedule so you alternate the morning and evening changing schedule so that your gap stays at an even 3 and 1/2 days. That might help with the problems your having on your longer times........
