Estrogen and Raynaud's Syndrome

I was diagnosed with Raynaud's Syndrome in March and have been on various meds to control it (the same meds also control my high blood it's been a juggling act, to say the least). Well, I was just doing research today and found that estrogen replacement therapy can cause Raynaud's syndrome, and has an affect on those who have it! What a blow to my mind! So now I've had my hysterectomy (which I don't regret in the least).....but am hesitant on being placed on estrogen if I need it. So far, my surgical menopause has been pretty good...only headaches and insomnia. Is there anyone else out there with Raynaud's who can shed some light on this?

Estrogen and Raynaud's Syndrome

I've had a degree of reynauds for a long time and it improved during pregnancy, when I was always warm. I think it's one of the problems that resond to progesterone, but might get worse from estrogen, like migraines.

Estrogen and Raynaud's Syndrome

Hi how are you doing - I talked to you before about Raynaud's I can't help you but would be very interested to know what you find out - keep searching and let us know - I may be asking the same questions in a couple of weeks. Although I am not planning on having my ovaries out - they haven't been working since my ultrasound in May - just heavy cramping - doctor is going to have a look. Good Luck. Also did you read my note on mittens?
