Bumps in the Road
Hi all my Sweet sisters,
I had my surgery on June 13th and had major bruising, look like I've been in a car wreck I had a bleed through my incision about 3 hours after surgery and they put a bandage, ice and binder on me for 24 hours so I could not wait to get up and walk . Everything seemed to be going well was release on Wed. and felt pretty good. I asked for Gas X in the hospital and that did help some but by Thursday morning I was in agony. My DH called Dr. at 6 am and I had to use ducolax suppository and started on Colace. It was the pain meds that had codein in them so ** Friday I switched to just tylenol and all that is going well now,. The big bump was when my Dr. called on Thursday and apologized for removing my ovaries which were suppose to stay. I had heavy bleeding and fibroids but not ovary problems. She said her dad was real sick and she was so sorry. I really love her and told her I forgave her and she said she would have a hard time with this for a long time.
Well needless to say I cried but know the Lord is in control and He knows what may have been down the line years from now. I had to go back in on Mon, my incision began to bleed ( old dark blood) and the doctor I saw said it was from all the bruising. She "milked my incision" GROSS and lots of old blood came out. It is still leaking some so I have a call in today. I feel great other that all this and the other doctor I saw gave me Premirin until I could look up all my options since I had not planned on sudden meonpause. She said since I was crying alot, night sweats., hot flashes this would help me out so I could heal and rest. So far so good. Well sorry this was so long would love to hear if anyone else had the bruising and bleeding after surgery. I wanted to be done with all this blood stuff. God bless you all. Luvbug

Hi Luvbug.
I never had the bruising and bleeding problems, but wanted to give you a . You've sure had your fair share of problems and hopefully your road to recovery will be easier from now on.
I know I've seen some of the other ladies say they had a lot of bruising, so maybe they'll be able to help with that.
Hope the rest of your recovery is dull and uneventful!

Bumps in the Road
I was pretty well bruised after surgery but it went away in a couple of weeks.
However, if my doctor had told me he removed my ovaries by accident because he was worried about a family member I would be most upset. Especially if he waited 3 days to tell me. As it was, my doctor asked me every time I saw him if I still wanted to keep my ovaries, including when I was in the pre-op area. There was no doubt about what was to be done. He did tell me I had to trust to make the decision if he saw something wrong.
