I use Estrace vaginal cream (has estradiol in it) and notice no smell. Do you only have it when you use the cream? Is there any chance you might have an infection going on and this causes the smell to be noticed?
Is there an expiration date on the tube? Also be sure the applicator stays super clean before using each time.
I would check with dr and see what he says.
Let us know what you find out?
Maybe someone who uses Premarin cream will come by and give us some insight.
Thank you both for your responses. Yes, the only time I notice the smell is when I use it once or twice a week. I've only been using it 2 months. I will be seeing my Dr. in a couple of weeks, and will ask for something different. It works so well-too bad it smells so bad when using it.
I tried a tube of Premarin cream many years ago. My guess is that it did smell bad because it had a heavy rose fragrance added but it still smelled bad and seemed irritating. I sniffed a friend's Premarin cream about a year ago and there was no longer any rose fragrance; it didn't seem to have much odor in the tube. Diana
