*sighing* I'm not feeling too princessy tonight
I need some "get up and go".
I am going in to my 5th week post and I swear am going backwards now. I am so good one day...then the next day, my skin aches, I have cramping, I'm cranky, emotional and chewing up anyone that dares to ask me why I am still feeling so badly..I esp hate the "Shouldn't you be better now?""
NO! I'll be better when my body let's me be better. Why doesn't anyone understand this? Just because my incision is healing well, it doesn't mean I am all healed.
Why should I feel better now? SO I can do your laundry, or make your lunch or pick up that garbage that someone kicked under the table three days ago....
*sigh*
And why is this heat trying to kill me? Is it harder to recover in 80 and 90 degree temps? I don't seem to tollerate the heat anymore...
I am such a whiner today.....
*waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa*

If it is any consolation, I am almost six weeks out and I often still feel very tired and achy. I have good days and bad and I am asuming this normal.
Hope you feel better!

you are not alone trinkets, im 5 weeks out as well and im still so tired and feel downright blah a lot of the time. Just take the good moments and enjoy them as they come, they will start being longer and longer as time passes for us.
Sit yourself in your princess chair, prop your feet up and start giving orders, tell em you are working hard enough recovering.
This is how i feel about things right now, the dishes will get done when i feel like doing them...maybe never, ive always wanted new dishes..... the floor will be swept when i again feel like it....if someone dosn't like it, they can do it themself... laundry...well im not the only one that knows how to turn on a washing machine...blah to anyone that thinks i have to have a spotless house when im recovering.
This heat sure does zap what little energy I do build up in a hurry, try to keep cool, I hope you feel better soon, Hugs

I'm so sorry you are feeling crummy. I'm sure your Lupus complicates things enormously. Maybe you should just look at those people and say, "thank you for your concern, my Dr. says it may take me a little longer to feel better because of my other health concerns."

Sorry to hear that you are frustrated with your household waiting for you to get going on "working". I felt really strange that my husband was bringing me meals, watering plants in and out, fixing the bed, picking up groceries, ect, ect, and my daughter (graduation I missed this Monday!!! - really hurt) running endless errands...it made me feel not only frustrated but really guilty. And it is so not him to be doing housey things! They both have busy and full agendas and I understand that this added load is not easy!! Guilt didn't last long as I realized how badly I feel, and how hard it is to be in pain and vulnerable physically for once in my life.
Yes, my household is doing everything that I have done for YEARS...but having read about the severity of having a Hyst..and really looking at the healing process on the inside..understanding now that it takes 6 months to a year to COMPLETELY heal - let me tell you I no longer feel sorry for them....I feel sad that I had to go through this and lose a part of myself in the process.
I have always been running for everyone non-stop and with a smile...you could always, always, always count on me. Well, we can't run right now and it may be a few weeks or a few months more before we can again. No more guilt!! I do agree with you...things that don't get done will have to wait. I like your idea of a new set of dishes!!!! Stay focused on healing and taking care of your body which deep inside really needs time to heal.
I miss getting out everyday, dressing up and zooming off to work or shopping or whatever -- I live in the country and much as I love the pastoral views, the trees, and flowers and my horse -- I sure could use days of shopping and trying on great new things!
Has anyone lost any weight??? Are stomaches down???
Please do something special and nice for yourself today! ~~Moonbeam

I'm sorry you're feeling so bad at this point!! I agree w/those that suggest enjoying the "good" days and enduring the "not so good" days!! I too was feeling guilty that others in my family had to do the work that I've been gladly doing for years!! Now I only have the "guilties" every once in a while!!
My biggest thing is that if I don't do things then my girls have to do them! Now this wouldn't be a bad thing except that the 2 at home are already facing challenges!! My 13yo dd is going through Chemo treatments (we're actually here in the hosp. for a 3 day Chemo treatment as I type this & we'll be here every 14 days for a 3 day stay until God manifests His healing in her physical body) so when she's not up to doing things (which happens very often now) it leaves it up to my 8yo dd!! Bless her little heart she's been a real trooper during the almost 6mos we've been doing Chemo!! Now she has to take on most of my household chores too!! Alot for an 8yo to do but I tell her how much I appreciate all she does and that I'll help her out as much as possible w/out harming my recovery.
I've found that it helps to keep reminding myself and others that God is in COMPLETE control and we WILL get through this latest bump (or mountain depending upon how I look at it at that moment) in the road!! Remember that you only get ONE chance to heal thoroughly from the beginning and YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!

Trinkets,
I see that you are from WNY....is this heat unbearable or WHAT???? I say.....bring back the SNOW!!! I must admit, we have central air in our house and I am FREEZING daily! My Raynaud's is getting worse and worse because of the cold house...but my husband & sons would melt if we turned it off! So who suffers.....the "Raynaud's mommy" who just had a hysterectomy! I shouldn't complain....it is quite beastly hot outside!
I think you need to go on strike and stay on strike..as difficult as that would be! I get so frustrated when there is something on the floor and my husband & 3 sons (11, 10 & 8) will walk OVER it 100 times and think nothing of it! GRrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Maybe I'll go on strike!
Hang in there, Trinkets....the weather is going to break soon (Friday, I do believe!). Rest, rest, and then REST!!
