Adhesions after Hyst

How many of you have suffered from the pain of adhesions after your hysts?
I have been in constant pain since february. I had a laporascopic investigation two weeks after my hyst which did not show a cause for my severe pain. Since then I have had many scans and investigations.
I had to visit three Drs before I was given the diagnosis of adhesions. Most of my medical carers believed that the pain was all in my head.I have had a terrible time convincing Drs that my pain is real.
I am having surgery next week to try to remove the adhesions. The research I have done says that there is a 70% chance of adhesions recuring after being surgically removed. This does not sound good
Has any one else had this experience and if you have how was it resolved?.
Thank you for being here.

Adhesions after Hyst

hi iam 11 weeks post tah/bso, felt fine for the first 4 weeks and for the 2 weeks after that then started having a lot of pain in the pelvic region, same as before the hyster. Went to my doctor at 8 wks for my check up he didnt seem to be too bothered that i was in pain said it probably adhesions and to see how i go and come back in 6wks,giving me ponston for the pain only after i asked him for something, well ponston are like smarties and do nothing for the pain.

Spending a lot of time in bed now again as i was before the hyster which is very disappointing and also i feel as if i should be bounding around and not complaining after all everyone thought i would be cured after the surgery.
Due to go back to doc at end of july couldnt get earlier appointment, still suffering and feeling as if il never get back to normal.

I dont know what the answer is he has suggested surgery again to remove the adhesiosn but if ti is the sccar tisue that causes adhesions i think whats the point as they will only reform so i dont know what to so all i know is i cant lie with the pain forever i havent gone back to work yet but am due to in august, now i done know if i will be able to. Sorry i cant be much help but jusdt to let you know you are not alone.
Keep smiling love dee

Adhesions after Hyst

Yes, I have had to deal w/ adhesions also. I have posted on this subject here and in the road less traveled forum. My Gyn did believe me thank goodness. At four months he did a lap that confirmed massive adhesions and removed them. I felt much better for about 4 weeks when the same familiar pain began again, when it recurred it brought new areas of pain which means other internal parts are now involved. He won't go back in at this time-there is really no point to as he believes that I have an "adhesion related disorder" and they will just come back again. He referred me to a very respected pain management specialist. I have seen him three times now, he tripled my dosage on my medication last week in hopes of calming my nerve endings down that are believed to be trapped in the scar tissue. If not, it's injections-not thrilled about that. I wish you the best of luck in finding a treatment plan that works for you.

Adhesions after Hyst

I had adhesions after my hyster. I was in a great deal of pain, so I had no choice but to have surgery again. I had the surgery about 3 wks. ago and I'm glad I did. The pain so far is gone and I hope it stays gone. The second surgery for the adhesions really wasn't that bad. Compared to the hyster, it was a piece of cake. I go back to work today and hopefully everything will be alright. If I hadn't had the second surgery there would be no way I could go back to work the pain was just to bad. If your in alot of pain you might as well take care of it. Why suffer any more, isn't that why you had your hyster? Good luck to you and I really hope for the best for you.

Thank you to the sisters that replied to my post. I feel encouraged, knowing that I am not alone.
I am grateful that my surgery date is only four days away. I just pray that it is successful and that my pain is gone.
To all of you who share my pain, I hope that you can find relief and healing.
keep smiling
