HELP!! I itch

Had a TAH kept ovaries 1 1/2 weeks ago. The past 3 days have been breaking out in hives. Taking Benadryl twice a day. No longer taking any kind of pain meds and if needed I take Motrin. Steri-stips have all came off.
Does anyone know if the hives are related to surgery?

HELP!! I itch

Mine was related to the drugs they gave me. I was itching like crazy when I woke up from surgery. (And still kept breaking out into hives a few days later.)

You might call you doctor. You might have been allergic to something.

HELP!! I itch

You should check with your doctor about unexplained itching. I was itching like crazy a few weeks after my hysterectomy and was sure it was due to hormones. It turned out I'd gotten scabies while I was in the hospital. We ended up spending Christmas treating everyone in the house for it and washing all the clothes and bedding. What fun!

HELP!! I itch

It's been 2 months since the surgery and the start of hrt. 2 weeks ago I broke out in hives and I thougt it was because I ate a type of fish for the first time. Now I'm itchy again and no fish. Could it be the hrt? My doc has told me to stop taking it for 2 weeks to find out. I'm worried about what to expect without the meds

HELP!! I itch

Hi meema,
I would definately call the doctor on this. Hives are generally (not always) associated w/an allergic reaction. you could be having a reaction to a number of things...or even a delayed reaction to the drugs (I've done this before).
Good luck and best wishes!

Help I'm Itching

Well I went to the ER last Friday. Got an IV with Benedryl, Prednisone, Zantac.
I'm feeling better but every so often I itch a little. I'm taking the pill form (5days). Hopefully this will be the end to it. I was taking pill form of Premarin. I'll keep you all posted and thanks for the feedback!
