2a Cervical Cancer

Wait! are you saying Ihave CANCER??? Yes he said. I had just moved from the eastcoast to the west to join my husband who had been transfered by his job . I left my work ,my friends and my kids(24 and 28). It was stage 2 cervical cancer and had spread to the vaginal wall. I had already enrolled in some college classes(I'm 50 and wanted to do something for fun by taking art classes) I started daily radiation(5 weeks) I developed burns in my pelvic area ,the nurse finally gave me a saline solution to heal it. I also developed really bad diareha(I had to be within 3 secound of a bathroom) After one accident outside I wore Depends whenever I went out . I did not finish the quarter. I had 2 rounds of chemo ,an all day CISPLATIN, then I wore a pump home for the weekend of 5FU. This made my mouth very sore I couldnt even brush my teeth. I drank lots of protein shakes and milkshakes. I developed a fungus in my mouth. four weeks after radation I had TAH and now into my 5th week of recovery . no spread of the cancer. Inever even heard of HPV until I developed this cancer. One more reason young girls need to just say NO!!!
