I had my LEEP done last Thursday and since then I've broken out (think 16 year old fry cook at McDonald's) and turned into a royal B****! Not to mention the hotflashes are ridiculous and last forever. Nightsweats too!
So I'm just curious is the two are related or if it's just coincidence. It shouldn't be PMS yet..not for a few more weeks.
No, the LEEP is a very localized procedure and should have no impact on your hormones at all. Stress (caused by anxiety, injury or pain) can affect your body, though, so sometimes the stress we feel about these things can cause all kinds of things to happen. Feel free to call your doc, however, if this is worrisome or out of the norm for you.
I 've had 2 LEEPs, but have never experienced something like that. Are you on any new meds or anything that could explain it? Stress could definitely be a factor. Have you been eating normally?
Jeanine mentioned that it's a localized procedure which is true. I'm wondering though...I've had problems with my cycles ever since my 1st LEEP & every month since my 2nd in December (late, early, lasting from 1-7 days & now always with a brown discharge a full week beforehand). The doctor told me LEEPs could affect that, but that didn't make any sense to me. A LEEP doesn't involve your uterus, so how could it??
It didn't seem logical to me that the LEEP would effect anything hormone wise but there hasn't been any other reason for it. I'm not stressed at all right now because either result the doctor would have for me will be a blessing in my book.
I was just thinking that maybe, poking around in the area maybe my body think something else was going on and react to it.
Just wondered if it was me....and apparently it is.
