Doc wants to do TVH with Rectocele repair/Bladder repair/Pelvic Floor repair

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you sisters. I work the 3rd shift, 12 hr. days and only go on my computer a few times a week. My sex life has been better than ever! At first was a little hard, it's almost like your a virgin again. It was quite tight, like it was rebuilt. It got better after a few times. Now that my uterus is not in the way anymore it feels GREAT! I also kept my ovaries, so my sex drive seems to be the same. Maybe even more because it feels better now that the uterus is gone. I had a TVH so everything was done through my vagina. I know your doctor said don't expect any changes in your tummy, but I swear mine seemed to go down after surgery. At night though I would get the swelly belly and feel so bloated. It has gotten better though. I hope I've helped you out some. Good luck to you sisters! Think Positive!

Hi,
It took me a long time to get back to you too - sorry. I kept my ovaries, but they went on vacation and never came back! I'm taking a very low does of premarin, which seems to keep the hot flashes at bay. I still have the swelly belly going on but, to be honest, it wasn't all the flat to begin with.

Hey girls,
I had a LAVH with A&P repairs, bladder lift with mesh and pelvic floor work done almost 4 months ago. I am happy to report that I am doing very well. I found out about my prolapses in Oct. and had surgery in March. I could tell that things were definitely getting worse. If at all possible, I would suggest having a vaginal hysterectomy. Much easier to recover from. It just makes sense. I kept my ovaries. Yes, I do ovulate each month. I still get all the crankiness much to my familys dismay. LOL. Just no bleeding. Oh, and my sex life is great. If you have any questions, just ask.
