Eyes

Hi all,
I read something on this board from some people who have noticed problems with seeing. I'm noticing fuzziness. Anybody else? I'm not an eyeglass wearer, had 20/20 vision.
Everybody is telling me that I've probably just slowed down enough to notice vision problems. I read all the time. I don't think that's it.
Others say it's the right time for me to have vision problems. I turned 42 Friday.
Anyway, anybody had this problem and did the fuzziness go away? Or do I need to break down and go to get glasses?

Donna, after I had my last 2 children, I had problems with my eyes not being able to focus right. I went and had them checked and got a mild prescription for glasses. I wore them for about 2 years and then I didn't need them any more. I don't know but I think that hormonal changes can cause this kind of thing so you might to see if your eyes even check out as needing a prescription and then wear it while you are still "fuzzy." Best of good luck to you!

A few months ago there was a thread on hear with many people saying their eyes changed f the worse after their hysterectomy. I had just got new glasses and contacts right before my surgery, and I feel that they aren't right for me, actually my Dr put me on a hormone before surgery, but after my eye exam, but before I got my glasses, and already I could tell something was wrong with my vision. So I found that taking a hormone and then the surgery and now a stronger hormone my eye sight has gone to crap

I still have the fuzzy vision. Had my surgery the same day as you and I still can't see good. I do wear glasses and I am wondering if I will have to go get a new prescription. I sure hope our vision gets better. God Bless

I would guess you have long arm disease, at 42 you probably need reading glasses, I got bifocals at 40, and it is funny, getting older isn't fun, just funny. Think of it as an adventure.

You got that right...getting old is definitely an adventure! I just got new contacts before my surgery. Get this...one regular contact for far away vision, and one *trifocal* contact to help read close up, computer screen, and focus with other eye for far away! Oh, and since my surgery...I had to start using the darn reading glasses again on top of all that! I think I am going to have to get me a seeing eye dog by the time I am 60..turning 50 was bad enough. My vision is so bad right now.

I say you should go ahead and get your vision checked. Otherwise, you may end up like me with contacts, glasses, and still can't see worth a darn! Lord help us all!

I had my surgery on May 4. I planned ahead and had several videos and books. I thought that I could catch up on things that I hadn't been able to do because of working and just not wanting to when I got home. Yeah, well, NOT!!! I couldn't see worth a darn. I started wearing glasses last year to read with and see the computer, (which I am not wearing right now ), and everything was sooooo blurry. It took about 2 weeks before I could see enough :eyes: and then another couple of weeks to think enough.

I am 10 weeks now and doing fine. Every once in a while the eyes will try and have mind or their own but, I am doing much better.

You may want to at least go get your eyes checked because as a few of us have said, you hit that 40 yr mark and something weird starts to happen. from another 40 something.

Newscat,
I think I would hold off a little while longer until your eyes have settled down a little. I'm a week behind you and I's having a lot of trouble getting my eyes to work together. I have "middle-aged eyes"! One pair of bi-focals for driving, etc. and one pair of reading glasses for computer and reading. They both seem to be the wrong prescription right now, but it changes daily, so I'm just going to hold off on doing anything until I have several days in a row of it seeming to be the same problem.

Do our eyes get hot flashes?

Kathy,
That gave me a good, much needed chuckle. That's it -- my eyes are having HOT FLASHES!

And the rest of you ladies, although I'm sorry we're all having this it could be worse and I'm glad to find I'm not alone.

eye exam

I was suppose to have an eye exam in August. From the sounds of things I better hold off until after January.
