Estrogen Shot Question

I have been getting estrogen shots along w/my estrogel to give my estrogen a boost. I got my first shot, then 4 weeks later a second one, then 6 weeks a third one and now will wait 8 weeks for my fourth. I was in the other day for a ventian violet treatment and asked my DR if I could do the shots more frequently (like every month) instead of how she is doing it now and not use the estrogel as much. In other words a shot instead of estrogel w/a shot to supplement. She said "probably not as their (whoever they are) findings show that the more frequently you get the shot the more you need and then your levels will go up and down instead of staying level. I really like the shot and not to mention that it's a lot cheaper than the estrogel.

Anybody else ever hear of this? I know there are sisters out there who get the shot. Do you find your levels fluctuating and needing more?

I really like my DR but am disappointed that she isn't receptive to the idea of me getting shots as my main HRT instead of a supplement.

My cousin gets her shot every month. She seems to do fine.
