Sick of sweat pants!

I'm going to the Dr. today for my 2 week check up. (13 days to be accurate) anyway, I put on a pair of jears for the first time and my swelly belly won't allow me to zip them up. Thinking of going to Dr. that way! Hope my pants don't fall off! LOL I am just so sick of sweats. When will I be able to wear jeans again? Sweats attract dog hair like a lint roller and Ruger the yellow wonder lab sheds so much he should be bald. Heaven knows the house isn't being vacuumed every day. Ever try to get a 15 yr. old DS to vacuum every day! Ha! I want my jeans back!

i have a suggestion...

hello ladies,

i haven't worn a pair of jeans in months. i had a myometomy in 08/00 and haven't been in jeans since.
i am a very small woman (less than 100 lbs.) and had a very hard time finding sweats that fit, even in the children's dept.

i discovered something better than sweats....leggings. i went to K-Mart and for about $12. a pair bought some denim leggings in a size small. they work great. they're as comfortable as sweats and look a whole lot better. i usually wear my tops on the outside and so it looks just like i'm wearing a pair of jeans!!

i hope this helps!!

Give me my jeans!!!!!!

I want to wear my jeans soooo bad too. I had a TAH Feb.15th kept both ovaries~~I tried my jeans on and they fit great!!But hurt if I move!! The zipper hits right where my incision runs ouch!!!! I alternate between sweats and a couple of dressy (stretchy waist) pants. It seems to help boast my self esteem. I just feel so tacky in sweats all the time!!!!!! We'll get our jeans back!!! I also tried my jeans on at 2~3 weeks and still was to swollen. I have cats!!!!! True about the vacumming and hairs!!! yuk

options

I gave upon jeans, I'm 6 weeks post-op and even the stretch leopard ones I was hoping to wear have to wait! Jene is right, leggings are great. Also, Chico's has lounging jersey type pants that don't bind. Kinda pricey even online, but jeans are way off for me! Still too swelly.

Sick of sweat pants!

I understand how you feel. After suffering from a swelly belly forever due to my adeno, I learned a few tricks that I've been using before and after my surgery.

Put on hubby's jeans if they're not too big. My hubby's fit great except for the length. Fortunately it's stylish to roll up the hem!

Buy yourself a pair of jeans in the next size.

A lot of stores make really attractive and stylish pull on pants with elastic waists. Dankskin makes a bunch of them. Another store is Chico's.

I hope this helps...I know I felt so much more attractive and confident when i wasn't rolling around in sweats.

Good luck!

Sick of sweat pants!

I am 7 weeks post op and I wore jeans for the first time last night to my son's basketball game. What a mistake!!

My belly was not as swollen yesterday, and they seemed to fit fine. Sitting on those hard seats wearing jeans with a zipper really set me back.

When I was leaving the gym, I walked like I did at 1 week post op. Today I am still suffering. I have an achy feeling from my belly button down to my pelvis, and my back also hurts. Now it's back to the sweats and very loose pants with a side zipper for a few days.

Does anyone know how long swelly belly lasts? Should I buy all new jeans in bigger sizes? I have been putting off buying bigger jeans thinking that I would not need a larger size much longer.

Another option

I am seven weeks post op and am living in overalls from target. Even the waistbands on sweats bother me. Going to the bathroom is no picnic with overalls but they are really comfie. With a tneck underneath and a pair of clogs on my feet I am good to go.

Sick of sweat pants!

I found that Dockers have been a great thing to wear. I haven't put the jeans on yet. I have some safari pants that are so comfy and look cool too. I got tired of my jammies and would put clothes on just to humor me.

Good luck with the jeans!

Update

Hi everyone,
Well, I went to the Dr. with jeans on. Yep they were unzipped and I put a rubber band through the button hole and attached it to the button - just in case. Really didn't want to loose my drawers! I didn't have to put on a gown, the nurse asked to see my incision and I just laughed. She liked my rubber band ( remembered that from being pg a long time ago).
Anyway, Dr. says I'm doing great, and I am. I drove myself to the Dr. No problem - then went to pick up my contacts that had been in at the Dr. for 2 weeks. I can't believe how good I feel. I'm not tired or sore. I think the outing did me good. The fabulous weather sure helped too. It has been in the 30's and gloomy for about a month. Today it is 54, sunny, and beautiful! I am dying to ride my horse. Counting the weeks!!
