Questions to ask at first visit follow-up

Tomorrow July 19, 2005 will be my first follow-up visit. Are there certain questions I need to ask him? Will the staples be removed then? Do I ask about possible tummy tuck(smile)? Thanks for all the replies. By the way I had TAH/BSO.

Questions to ask at first visit follow-up

My staples were removed at my first follow-up. and the steri-strips were put in place. I would ask about what kind of restrictions, Hrt versus no Hrt. The one thing I was concerned about was when I could get in a bath. He said not for 8 weeks. I was very specific about asking about my restrictions, I wanted to know what I could and couldn't do.
Good luck

1-2 weeks post op

You are past the one week post op time? Do you have staples? Then I would think they would be coming out now. I had 1/2 removed in the hospital and the rest at 6 days post op.

Here is the link to Checkpoints-Week One and Two

When you look at those checkpoints, to the right of the main articles, are links to more information-like "When can I take a bath?" etc. That might give you some ideas about what you want to know at this point. I also remember asking about needing pain more medications because my prescription was out after one week.
At that time the doc's nurse also told me how I could take tylenol, then alternate with another OTC one, and how much I could take in one day of each during the recovery time.
Best wishes to you on your visit!
