LSH Tomorrow and nervous
I'm having my surgery tomorrow and am feeling very nervous! I have even thought that maybe I don't really need to do this. I feel worried about everything. Gaining weight, not being able to exercise( I work out every day) and not waking up from the procedure! I'll be so glad when this is all over tomorrow and I don't have to worry about this anymore and i can concentrate on my recovery.

LSH Tomorrow and nervous
Hi Pat, I had my LSH 10 weeks ago and am feeling better all the time. Your surgery is going to be okay. Even better than okay! You are going to be fine. The surgery itself, for me, was a piece of cake. There wasn't any real pain, just very tired and sore/achey. They will give you plenty of good meds to feel better. The only trouble I had was healing from the fact that my uterus was so big and malformed that it had crushed everything around it. So
obviously when the U was gone there was ALOT of readjusting and soreness. And the old bowel functions have finally come back to normal. Hooray!
You are going to be just fine. And I know how nervous you are. But you are doing something wonderful for you that will payoff for years to come.
Best Wishes for a Great Recovery!
See you on the other side!

LSH Tomorrow and nervous
I'm almost 10 weeks post-op too, and I also feel better and better everyday. I remember being terrified of not waking up or that something was going to go terribly wrong but, after talking to the anesthiologist, I was fine. He was great and really put me at ease and calmed all my fears.
Before I started feeling really bad last October, I was walking 5 miles a day. I'm not quite up to that yet (mostly because of the 90-degree temps and 90 percent humidity. Yuck!) but I'm getting there. I did gain a little bit of weight, but now I'm into my pre-surgery jeans again. Although I was kind of depressed about the weight gain, I kept reminding myself that I'd have no more periods, no more pain and none of the other bad stuff that went along with 5 fibroids. The temporary weight gain was just a minor problem compared to all the benefits of surgery.
Good luck with everything. I'm sure you'll do fine!

LSH Tomorrow and nervous
Good luck tomorrow! Had mine on July 12th! I was very nervous before but for some strange reason I was so calm the day of surgery! So far, so good! I can't say I was ever in pain...lots of tenderness and aches but nothing bad. The ride home from the castle was a treat...sure wish I would have taken something before we left. So far, that's been the most painful part of my recovery!

LSH Tomorrow and nervous
Hi Patty,
My LSH is tomorrow too and I am a bit fluttery with nerves. I know in my head that everything will be fine, it is the unknown that is scaring me. I am trying to focus on how wonderful I will feel a few weeks down the road and thinking of it all as a new beggining. Good luck with everything, I will keep you in my prayers too and hope to hear good things from you in a couple of days.
Have the best,
Marybeth

good luck with your op tomorrow, mine is in 10 weeks and wish it was alot sooner, as I can't wait to be pain and symptom free. I am scared stiff also, but a can see a light at the end of a long dark tunnel now. Nothing is going to happen to you, just look past the op and see your new future ahead, your new life and the new you.
good luck flower, you will be in my prayers.
God bless,
AL

LSH Tomorrow and nervous
I can relate to the nervous before hand, but you don't have to gain weight; I have lost about four pounds in the 8 weeks post-op. It is natural to be worried, but I have nothing but good results, as many of your other sisters can attest to also.
I went out a few weeks later and bought a white jean skirt and white sheets; I am through with periods forever as well as the rest of the worries and pain I was used to. So look forward to good things; we are all praying for and thinking about you.
