post-op 3weeks /total abdominal hysterectomy

Hi everyone i'm back!!! how is everyone doing. I'm doing pretty good havent really needed pain pills after second week. My biggest problem i couldn't sleep at night my doctor told me to take 1 tylenol pm it really works. My bowels are a little off but thats basically it and still tire easy. I can't have hormones so i take estroven extra strength (all natural) its working for me.I havent really noticed a big change with no ovaries. but the doctor said that is because i was already going through the changes before surgery. they say surgical meenopause occurs abruptly 3 days after surgery. so thank god I was really worried about that. I hope everyone is doing well.

Glad to hear another sister is doing so well!

I have heard others mention estroven...what is it and where do you get it? I am just curious, as I am not taking hormones either. So far, so good...still have some hot flashes, but not too bad.

Hi! TAH, 3 weeks post too. I am feeling about the same. Using a little motrin if I have over-done that day. I kinda feel like am in Limbo - not well enough to do a whole lot, but don't feel bad enough to be lounging all the time. Yet, I still am. Before now I had wondered if you could really tell if you were doing too much, but I get it now! Yesterday was my Mom's 60th Birthday, so we went out to lunch and to get our nails done, it was nice, but now I have no place too wear the new pretty nails. Oh well they look good while typing on the computer! Smile it helps!

Its all natural you can buy it any where the cheapest i have seen is walmart it is 15.96 its pills you take two a day. i take mine at dinner. only because i take alot of pills in morning.I had 1 hot flash before starting to take them and i had only 1 hot flash since i have been taking them.and that was when i first starting taking them. my gynocolgist told me to take them. she said alot of women she knew took them and it helped them. also when i was in walmart getting them a woman that was in same isle as me and saw me pick up the box. said her daughter had a hysterectomy and swears by estroven she said it helped her so much.
