ok, I am wigging out today

I just woke up and jumped out of bed like someone lit a firecracker under my butt! I was thinking today was my surgery (its tomorrow), I'm sitting here with butterflies, diarreaha (sp) and feel like I cant get a breath! Not a panic attack just VERY VERY Edgy!
I'm trying to calm my self, pre op is today @ 115, on the bright side, with the diarreaha, maybe bowel prep wont be so hard !

ok, I am wigging out today

Best Wishes for tomorrow.
I was a calm as a cuke on my surgery day BUT the pre-op day was all together another story !!! I cried all the way to the appt and then cried all the way to work after, I think I got all my fears out that day.
I am a huge needle phobic and the worst part of the whole surgery part for me was the antisipation of the IV , I have had NO good experiences with bloodwork and past IV's BUT I got the best IV person in the world, she did it quick and on the first try and I only felt a TINY TINY pinch feeling...I was so glad I wanted to give her a kiss and hug that she made it so easy.
I am also a chicken about general's so since I was having a TVH I opted for an epideral and happy med for mine ..ALL worked out great and I am so happy I went that way !
Just keep in the back of your mind that after surgery and recovery ,you will be feeling better in the long run !! I had my TVH 4 wks ago yesterday and so far no major humps and hurtles... just some minor curves !!!

Bonnie...i'm with ya on the needle thing..I normally pass out @ the sight of needles, but the nurse I had was wonderful too...she numbed my arm before the I.V...didn't feel a thing.
I think the day before surgery is the worst...because you're wracking your brain trying to make sure everything's ok...lol.
Let the DR's know how nervous you are, and maybe they can give you something for it...the day of surgery i told everyone in earshot how scared I was..they put something in the I.V...next thing I know i'm waking up and it's all done!

Dear Skye,

I've already had my hyster, so I am entitled to compare. You know how it is when you have a toothache and you suffer and suffer because you hate going to the dentist, and then after you go to the dentist you say to yourself "**** why didn't I go sooner" ?? Well, a few days from now you're going to be thinking "what was I so worried about?"

As for that butt firecracker, let me know if you find any of those for sale. I'm going to need one of those for August 8, which is my first day back to work. It's going to be hard to get up at 6 a.m. when now I'm sleeping from 2:00 a.m. until noon!

Dear Skye-My surgery is tomorrow, too! I've been holding it together pretty well but I'm not sure it will last. I've taken one bottle of mag citrate (great idea to suck on the lemon) and I did a phone interview with a nurse FROM THE TOILET! In another hour I'll do the second bottle. Hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight but I'm kindof doubting it. My sister in law is coming to help out with my 3.5 yr old son so that my husband can spend more time with me. I sure know that I'll feel better by Thursday. The waiting is the worst! Good luck--Leslie

Good luck to you ladies tomorrow, I already know that is how I will be feeling on the day before as well! Just as you described. Good luck and the waiting is almost over, soon you will be on the recovery side which means things will just get better and better!

Hugs and my thoughts will be with you!
