whats worse, physical stress or emotional?

Hi Sisters,

I had a very emotional week so far, I went back to work tuesday and had to fire someone for doing and purchasing drugs in my shop.
It was so hard, my whole body was shaking, I had to call the police because he refused to leave.....it wasn't pretty.
Anyway, that incident set me back a bit. I am so sore,
I had been doing so much better before this.
Do you think this could have caused as much damage as over doing it physically? It sure feels like it.

I had my surgery on June 1st, so 8 weeks post op now. My DR said it really takes 6-8 to recover. And I have noticed different degrees of recovery. I think you are about 4 weeks? And at that point, I would have great days and then really crummy ones. Just remember your are still healing. Sorry to hear that you had to go thru such an ordeal. Just try and take it easy and listen to your body.

Yes, emotional stress can take you out and is hard on your body. I haven't had to do anything like firing someone. I had my surgery the same day you did and I am feeling pretty good this week. I go back to work on Monday, which I am happy about. I know I will be tired, but the stress of just sitting here at home is killing me. I can't do anything I want to do, like vacuum. It's been really difficult to sit back and relax, but I finally reached a point where it's not so bad. After you have had time to process your experience, which is the hard part, things do get better.

Hi Bellalou,

The episode at work with having to fire someone must have been traumatic for you! I think stress can be very draining. I hope you can take it easier!

I had my TAH on 4 May 2005, and I still don't have my stamina back. I'm not as resilient as I want to be yet. Things are improving for me, but this recovery is taking a long time. You are much earlier in your recovery, and your body is likely still using alot of energy to heal, so I'm not surprised that you aren't feeling very well following such a stressful day.

I was still very sore at 4 weeks. I still have soreness periodically but it' less intense. I'm not sure if you could have caused damage, but if after resting you continue to have pain you could always give your a doctor a call.

Take it easy, Bellalou......

Thank you ladies,
I think because my whole body was shaking (so bad, the chair I sat in afterwards was shaking too) that it really hurt that night. Our emotions really effect our recovery I think. It makes sense, I am going back to work tomorrow through Sunday. I see my Doc on Monday. I am probably just worn out from the drama, but I'll let you know.
