Questions about estrogen creams??

I just switched to triest cream .0625 twice a day. That is the same dose of pill I was on.
Question?
When you use the cream instead of the pill should the dosage be the same? Or do you need a higher dose when using creams?

Is there an adjustment period when switching from pills to creams? Will I have symptoms for awhile, or will I not have any changes?

Anyone with experiences??????????????????

Hi Monica We need a much lower dose when estrogen is used transdermally (in patches or creams) versus pills. To give you a rough idea (because it depends on the efficiency of an individual's liver), 1mg per day of oral estradiol is approximately equivalent to .05mg per day in patch or cream form (that's .05mg of estradiol in the cream, not .05mg of cream, of course).
