Anybody have ablation first??????

I had an attempted ablation in 2003. My uterus was too deformed to do the balloon ablation. I started back with heavy periods almost immediately. I tried BC pills to regualte and reduce the flow, but I gained weight and my blood pressure went up. I just had my surgery on 7-19.

Anybody have ablation first??????

I had 3 lots of ablation and the mirena coil, sadly none of them helped I continued to bleed almost costantly. My only option was Hysterectomy which was nearly 6 weeks ago. Hopefully I'm now starting a new phase after years of bleeding and having to plan the whole of my life to fit in with my bleeding.
Love Hazel.

Anybody have ablation first??????

I, too, had an endometrial ablation a year ago for fibroids. It didn't really do much for my bleeding or pain; I continue to have periods to this day. I now have ovarian cysts in addition to the fibroids, which is why I'm having a hyst now. With all of that said, though, I'm still happy I tried something less invasive before going to the hyst. At least now I know this is really my last option. I'm sending good thoughts your way; I know you'll make the best decision for your situation.

Anybody have ablation first??????

I had a novasure ablation 6/10/05 for abnormal uterine bleeding after menopause. I also had right lower side pain I suspected was a cyst on my ovary or maybe a fibroid. I have a success for my bleeding, but the pain is far worse. I had an ultrasound recently and it showed a simple cyst on my right ovary and several fibroids on the outside of my uterus. My pain has progressed to bouts of very intense lowback and across my lower tummy. My doctor is having me try a medication for IBS before doing a hysterectomy to make sure the pain isn't from my bowels. I wonder, is my pain severe enough to warrent a hyst?

Anybody have ablation first??????

I had an ablation about 5 years ago and it worked for a while, then the bleeding started up again and I finally (after putting it off for 2 years) got my hyst done on July 1st. It was finally to face the facts!
