many thanks to my hystersisters
This web site has been a God send for me. I'm still in quite a bit of pain even with the meds, and very emotional, but i am so glad not to be alone. I can't wait till i get my swellybelly in the mail, my stomach is very swollen and hurts. Is it ok for you to get out of the house before your 2 wk checkup? Not sure what to wear but i'm quite bored just watching tv all day. Thanks again for all the support and answers.

For my first 2 wks my activities were limited but I "piggy-backed" when anyone went to the store or somewhere else. I didn't get out and walk through the stores right away, but I would go on quick trips and wait in the car just to get out of the house. It was a nice change of surroundings.

I had surgery (SAH) on Mon, home from castle on Wed, to Mom's for Thanksgiving dinner on Thurs! I figured it would be a lot less stress to ride in a car 15 miles to mom'a than have DH and 2 DS's attempt any thing looking or tasting like Thanksgiving dinner! I also would have DH drive me to grocery, leave me at door, then push cart while I pointed out things and when I felt I had enough I said let's go and we immediately checked out and left, anything else I might have needed would have to wait until the next time I needed an outing! My theory was the doctor said to walk, he didn't say where. I think the hardest part of the recovery is the going stir crazy.

MistyG, Gosh I hope it's ok to get out a bit otherwise we'd go stir crazy. I guess as long as you take it slow, don't overdue and rest often you should be ok. I returned home from the castle on thursday and DH took me for a short drive on Friday and a quick dinner at a local restaurant on Saturday. Sometimes just a change of scenery improves your mood and it's as important to take care of your mental health as it is your physical health. Hope your recovery is smooth
better days are ahead.
