anyone out there have rheumatoid arthritis??

Hi There!
I do not have RA however I do have Sjogren's disease which is an autoimmune disorder that among other things causes achy joints and swelling at times. I am only 11 days out from my surgery, LSCH/BSO and I have noticed that my knee and ankels are quite achy and alittle swollen. Not sure if I am just in a flare out related to hysterectomy??? my guess is alittle of both. I have an appt with Rheumtologist coming up and I am gonna mention it to her. I am taking vivelle dot .1mg.

anyone out there have rheumatoid arthritis??

I have reactive arthritis which is an autoimmune disease similar to RA. I haven't been taking my methotrexate since my surgery because it can slow healing and make you more susceptible to infection. I've been doing well without it, but I know that I could wake up anyday now in a flare up. I will probably start taking it again next week (I'm 4 weeks post-op now).

Hugs,
Patti

anyone out there have rheumatoid arthritis??

I have RA. It has actually been in "remission" for about a year now, and I've not had to be on regular medication, just "as needed." I noticed after my surgery that some of my joints were stiff, but I wasn't really moving much, either.

I've had some bad days over the course of the last 7 weeks, but I can't blame the surgery with 100% certainty. It's been quite humid, and that gets my RA acting up, too.

anyone out there have rheumatoid arthritis??

I have RA. I had TVH 3-23-05 and since my surgery I have good days and bad. I notice my ankles and knees still swell alot. My energy level today is at ground 00 big time. My husband suggest that I call my dr. to get an appointment to find out why I feel so bad. Hopefully it's just a flare-up.

thanks

thanks for all the replies...now i'm a little worried cause I didn't take my methotrexate for 2 weeks before my hyst but i had the surgery 2 weeks ago today and took my meds today!! I hope I waited long enough...i have been doing great...my rheumatologist didnt seem concerned, didnt seem to think it was necessary for me to stop it but said if it made me feel better to stop it for a week before...so i stopped it for 2...i hope now I dont get an infection...the last surgery I had (tubes tied 4 mos ago) I didnt stop it and i got a major infection in my incision and had to have it drained and packed (ugly)...dont know if the meds had anything to do with that? anyway thanks for all the replies!!

I have AutoImmune Disease which last yr. I did have orthoscopic surgery on my r-knee due too meniscal tear. Just last week I saw the Orthopedic due too having constant pain in the same knee, and he did x-rays which indicated that I have degereative arthritis. Also having fibro, along with all the other symptoms I deal with on a daily basis the pain still remains.

anyone out there have rheumatoid arthritis??

I have Raynaud's and Crest Syndrome but after surgery had extreme pain and swelling in knees and fingers. I've since found some relief by taking a good calcium and magnesium mix. It has made a great improvement in my joints. I did however hit my toe on 4th of July and don't seem to be getting much improvement on the healing process there.
