3 Months and Loving Life!

I just had my 3 month anniversary since my TAH, &
I cannot believe how great I feel!
Anyone who told me..."you'll wish you did it years ago" was right.
No more monthly pain (at least 2 weeks out of every 4),
no more nasty mood swings...
I've lost about 12lbs, have energy to spare and my libido...she has returned from the land of the living dead! ;-)

I do still find that I have to be careful of overdoing it picking things up...no 3 year olds yet...or bags of cement! And I am still taking Traumeel and Serrapeptase (health food store anti-inflamitories) but hardly ever any other kind of pain relief.

It's fun to find the odd tampon lurking around and think:..."Oh yeah... I remember when I was held hostage by that nasty uterus!!"

There were some bumps in the recovery road... but it's all smooth now!!

Almost 6 months, my how time flies!!!

veranda2
I have not been around for a while. I'm almost 6 month post-op, I have never felt better. I still wipe with paper and expect to see some staining every so often. What a relief that there is nothing there.
I have been back to work full time since April 18th, 2005. In the beginning I used to get tired by late afternoon, now I'm okay right through the day.
Even though I do not log in as I did right after my surgery I'm so greatfull for this website. This is the best thing that could happen to me.
I hope that all of you ladies are and will continue to benefit from this website.
To the people that run this site, thank you and keep up the good work.

Catahula,
I am 3.5 months post op, and just today I was thanking my lucky stars that everything "fell into place" and I had my surgery. I am heading back to work next month (on maternity leave presently) I now have the energy to keep up with a 7 yr old and a 10 month old...Life is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo wonderful post hysterectomy.

3 Months and Loving Life!

AMEN SISTER! I am a little over 4 months post op and feel great! I am at the point where I am carrying around my 40 pound 2 year old, I am working out in an even more intense routine than pre-op, and I can't remember the last time I had any bloating or swelling! The first few times I did the "on the ball" sit ups I blew up like a balloon, but now that the muscles are back in business, it is going great!
As far as those long lost tampons, I recently moved so we found them in the back of the closet where I kept them, and my mom, who had a hyster about 10 years ago, used one to reach a can of hairspray that neither of us could get to, so we got a laugh out of "that's what those are for!" It's nice to be free!

3 Months and Loving Life!

Everyone told me the same thing. I'm 9 wks. post op and I have never felt so good in all my life. I feel like a new woman. I'm even gonna go to massage school in September and can't wait to start. It's so amazing how great you can feel.

3 Months and Loving Life!

Thank-you..Thank-you!!!! I was begining to get a little anxious. There are so many out there who are having difficulty with one or more aspects of their recovery, I was getting a little anxious. (What have I done!!) I am only 3 weeks out of sx and had a few post-op complications that kept me in the hospital for 7 days. It has only been the last 2 days that I have been able to stay out of bed the whole day!! whoooo-hoooo! My mind is ready to go but my body is quite ready to keep up. It is so good to read that you all are doing so well. Keep up the good work and Thanks again!!

LeeB27--thanks for sharing about the exercise--I am 4 months post-op and have recently started exercising again but was concerned--didn't want to strain anything, so it was good to hear how much you've been doing!!
To Taren, Yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel but in the meantime, be sure to take the time to heal properly!!! I remember the feeling of "the mind is willing but the body isn't" so as hard as it is, just be patient and take care these first few weeks so you can heal properly! Best to all!! zanylynn
