i was supposed to do a cycle of chemo today.

no such luck.

my darling daughter brought home a lovely present this week -- a cold that she quite happily shared with the enitre family.

darn bug took up residence in my lungs. that wasn't a seal you heard barking, that was me.

((((broadwayfan))))

Sorry to hear of your delay in getting chemo. I'm sure the doctor's only make that decision for your own sake and well-being.

Let's hope you and your daughter get over that nasty cold real quick!

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well and that your chemo was postponed. Mine was postponed once due to a low blood count and you should have heard me complaining. It totally upset my schedule!!
Anyway, better to be safe than sorry.
Be well.

So sorry your chemo was delayed. You do want to be feeling somewhat well when you get chemo so your body can deal with it better.

That does sound like a nasty bug you have. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Hang in there, Broadway. I know that it's kind of freaky to have your treatment delayed (happened to me a few times and I was NOT a happy camper!) but it's much Better that they put it off then put you through that if your immune system was weakened in any way.

Rest up and lots of fluids. Enjoy the time off, I say

I've had chemo postponed for low counts and I kow how frustrating this is. However, if they give you chemo when your immune system is down with a cold, it could really be disastrous--you could wind up in the hospital with neutropenia. The frustration is hard--hang in there and net week will likely be a go.

Hi Broadway. Next time someone is sick in the house, have a box of disposable ear loop masks for everyone. It's worth it. I even clean the handles to doors, phones, refrig., toilet, and use hand sanitizer. And try not to touch mucous membranes of nose, eyes, etc. You just have to take care of yourself, no matter how freaky people might tell you that you're being. (I get laughed at when I do this. But you know, I've gotten so sick from cleaning out a vacuum cleaner and the bag burst, sending all that mold and germy mess into my lungs. My DH just returned from several weeks in China. He came back sick as a buzzard, cough, sorethroat, the works. The fool even admitted that he ate a CHICKEN HEAD on a skewer that had been roasted. Good god. No wonder. He's crazy!)
