Talking - Friday, Friday, Friday...19 August Friday, Friday, Friday...19 August

Morning!

Wow! I can't believe it, I'm up early this morning! I've done my banking, and here I am, to start your day (and your thread)

Breakfast ~ slice of toast
Lunch ~ ?
Dinner ~ chicken and something

I'm going food shopping this morning, then relax with a book for a couple of hours! Possibly visit MIL in the evening!

I'm planning a couple of gym visits this week, and also a swim or two!

Hi Ellen, glad all is going well with your DS!
Have a great day, y'all!

Well...it happened again! Fred came again last night but, I didn't fair as well this time. I fought him off for the longest time. Then I went way over the top when I did finally give in! Perhaps I should have just went for it earlier on then maybe it wouldn't have been so bad!

Oh well, can't change it now...just need to forgive and move on, right?

It's amazing how there are times when doing the right thing is so easy and then other times when it's the hardest thing in the world!

We are getting some much needed rain today...yay! Might sound weird but I am in the mood for a nice rainy day! Guess it's due to the fact we haven't had any of those in a very long time!

Gotta get moving!

Take Care, Dawn

Good Morning Everyone! Hi Fran and Dawn and everyone still to visit today.

I'm in a "Somewhere in the Tropics" kind of mode today. We leave first thing in the morning to drive to Ohio, visit my parents. Then get up on Sunday, when we will dance and probably be stupid, going to see Jimmy Buffett in Cincinnati. I'll be able to be OP on food until Sunday at the concert, then I'll be a victim of whatever they might have. Can't take a cooler in with us. We'll park at 5:00, go in the gates at 6:00 for a concert that doesn't start till 8:00. We have lawn seats and we don't want them to be the farthest back ones, thus the early arrival times. So even if I'm OP till we get there...I'm sure there isn't a real good choice there. But I'll till I drop so that will help, at least I'll burn off some calories and get some good exercise.

I'm off to Curves this morning, then home to get everything ready to go.

I wish everyone the BEST OP day and weekend.

(I can't stop dancing today)

Good morning!

Nancy - sounds like a fun weekend!

I expect mine to be quiet. Going shopping w/my soon to be dd-in-law this afternoon. Time for her to get some "professional" clothes for her internship this fall.

Dawn - I figure that we should apploaud ourselves for doing things well too...whether it is for one meal or an entire day...we know we are improving, and this should help us in the overall scheme of things.

to all who post later or are just "readers"

Hi Besters,
Sorry that I've been MIA, both my DH and I had some minor surgery to remove basal cell cancer and my time away lasted longer than expected. BTW, even if you don't see a possible prob, pls be sure to get a dermatology checkup at about age 45-50 and this especially applies to fair-skin lasses. Had no idea I had a problem till my PCP insisted I get something rather innocent looked at.
Since my dermatologist is up North, I also had a nice visit with my DMIL and some "old" friends. I was not OP- had pizza, sweets, etc. but came back to "reality" upon returning home. Due to location of my minor surgery, am side-line re most excercise for circa next two weeks so I need to go lower cal at least to avoid weight gain, ugh!
Fran, good for you re planning to go to the gym and swimming. Good books are fun too. Pls enjoy your vacation.
Dawn, as you see, I've been "bad" too but we need to pick ourselves up and not get angry at ourselves, etc. We will both get back on track. BTW, a belated Happy Birthday to you. You are still a "baby" compared to me. IMHO life is what one makes of it at any age and taking care of yourself is one big key to keeping happy, healthy, etc. and of course being OP, as we all keep trying, certainly helps.
Nancy, sounds like a fun weekend. I'm sure that dancing will off set any "bad" eats. Enjoy the concert!
Bliss, pls enjoy your shopping trip with future DDIL; how nice for the both of you that you each seem to enjoy each others company.
Emily, curves first and then a slice of pizza doesn't seem bad at all. IMHO when we deprive ourselves all the time we can set ourselves up for a big fall - like eating a whole pie vice a slice or two.
Thus far I'm being OP today:
B: 1 and 1/2 bagel, low fat cream cheese, H2Omelon
L: veggie wrap, salad
D: salmon, salad, fruit
S: fresh fruit
Hope everyone has a great Friday and a fun-filled, relaxing OP weekend.

There are two television shows pertaining to weightloss on today that might be worth watching.

1) Oprah-- will be discussing obesity in the family
2) Dateline-- will be talking about a school for overweight teens

Hello ladies
Yep I have been missing again for a few days. This is a really busy time of the year for me. Summer camp is winding down and I am trying to get my classroom ready for Fall. Gosh where did the summer go?
Food choices are still not great. Like some of you I do really well during the day then at night well you know how that goes. Hopefully I will get out of this slump I am in before too much damge is done. I get down to a certain weight and then something happens. I know it is psychological I just can't for the life of me figure out the why of it. I know I am repeating myself please bear with me as I am desperately trying to figure out why this happens.

Nancy: Lucky you Jimmy Buffet!!! I love the song he sings with Alan Jackson. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!

No plans for me this weekend. It has been a long week so I think I will just telax and do nothing after the housework laundry and food shopping are done that is.

Have a great night/weekend!!!!

Oh those nightly belly growls. I did so well yesterday until hubby made brownies. FAT ones out of a box. Yes, I gave into a 2 inch square.

Today has been OP all day.

B: Fruit N Granola bar
S: Applesauce
L: grilled chicken breast, 1/2 cup stuffing
S: no fat pudding
D: Broiled steak, 1/2 rice and brocalli
S: NO brownies...will find a good one

Only 2 cups coffee, 30 oz of water, juice 8 oz, and one cup tea.

Dawn, thanks for the tv news. I am fortunate, all my children are thin and healthy.

Peggiesue, take it easy and heal before you exercise. Don't be too hard on yourself, just eat healthy so you can heal.

Fran and Nancy, sounds like great weekend plans.
Quiet one for me. Mostly wash, and it is nice having hubby home. Not sure where next week will lead with his working. He is determined to start looking for a new job, even at a pay cut. We will survive....we need him home.

Best of luck to all for the weekend. I go Monday after work for my test, and will know later in the week about the results and what treatment I need.

Hi ladies.

Haven't checked in for a while!

Like a lot of sisters, things are busy. It's amazing how busy you can be during the summer holidays!

Started WW this week and was disappointed with no loss with the first week under my belt (literally). But, I am keeping my chin up for a pay off next week.

I went in to LA Weight Loss Centers to check it out. Came out feeling overwhelmed and bombarded with info. Plus the cost of the program once you get past the $7 per week ploy, is out of the question.

So, OP today...

B-shredded wheat, skim milk and blueberries
S-clementine orange (sooooo good!!!)
L-deli meat bun with tomatoes, veggies and dip
D-1 c. whole wheat pasta with homemade pasta sauce

So...hope all BEST gals are doing well! It is nice to read all the goings on!

Sarah
