Anyone from the Niagara Region in Ontario?

I know that this is sort of an old thread but I too am from the niagara region, I live in St. Catharines to be exact.

I have not yet had a hysterectomy but feel that it is quite likely that I'll be having one in the near future.

I suffer from endometriosis and would love to join or start a support group in Niagara, if anyone else from the area is interested. Please feel free to send me a PM if you know of an Endo support group or are also interested in joining one!

Anyone from the Niagara Region in Ontario?

Hi there.
I haven't been on this site for a while. I am from St. Catharines as well.
I had a not so nice experience with my hysterectomy and I heard from others that the doctor that did it was a little careless with his procedures.
If you are planning on having one, I suggest that you take a look at the complications that can happen. AFter 7 years I am still suffering.
I would love to join some kind of forum from people from St. Catharines to discuss our success stories and healings. I can only suggest to you that if you have surgery that perhaps you have it outside of St. Catharines. I look forward to your reply.

I am from hamilton

Hi there; I am close to the Niagara Region, I am in Hamilton.
I had a bilateraly oopherectomy and hysterectomy (only left one ovary and removed everything else) in April 2005 because it was the last option to try to rid endo.
I found out today that the endo is back and has taken over the ovary and I must decide if I want to live with the pain until menopause, or have it removed and start menopause right away????

Hello, hmb! to HysterSisters!

It's very nice to have you as a new Sister. I hope you will enjoy the time you spend on this site. It's a big place--with lots of forums and many new friends to meet.

To get support from those who are dealing with endometriosis, please start a new thread on the Endometriosis Support message board. You can get support from women all over the world there.

If you do opt to have your remaining ovary removed, you can use the Ovaries Only message board, both pre- and post-op, for your questions, concerns and support needs.

You're welcome to socialize here in the Neighborhood forum. It's a great place to connect with your Sisters to chat about topics other than surgery, recovery and related issues.

We look forward to seeing you over on the other message boards! Enjoy meeting everyone!

It's great to have you join us!

If you've not done so already, please check out our <link> Post-Op Support Forum, where you'll find all the other ladies recovering from surgery, and feel free to start a new thread there if you have any concerns. (To start a new thread, just click on the "New Topic" button which is located at the top and bottom left of that forum’s main page, or by clicking HERE). We also have a Post-Op Page which is packed with information, too.

When you have a moment, you could tell us a little about yourself by completing your Member Survey. This includes information such as why you had surgery, what type/which procedure and whether or not you kept your ovaries, etc. You can do that by clicking HERE.

We look forward to seeing you over on the hysterectomy support boards and hope you'll enjoy social, non-surgery chatter and fun here in Neighborhoods!

Re: Anyone from the Niagara Region in Ontario?

Hi to Tired47,

I'm really scared now. Can I ask who the Doc was that did your surgery? <Admin note: please share doctors' names privately per the site guidelines ~ thank you!> I had to have an emerge TAH last week in St. cath and am freaked out by possible complications and a bad surgeon.
