Too many medical conditions at once :-(
I went to the doctors today.... I had the papsmere done. She thinks the lump under my RIGHT arm is a cyst...but when she gave me my breast exam, fluid secreted from my RIGHT breast and she found a lump in my RIGHT breast. She gathered a sample of the breast fluid and sent it off to the lab. She asked me if my breasts are always tender, I said yes but I thought nothing of it. She also took some blood tests to check my hormones. She said if my hormones are on high level then it explains the breast secretion. She said if my hormone levels are normal thats something I have to worry about. She said it could indicate a sign of something more serious (like cancer). She is also checking my TSH level to see if I have hypothyroid condition. I am on pins and needles now until I get word from her. She also does not like the pain the papsmere caused (put me in teers) and she is referring me to specialist doctors locally. My abdomen has been hurting like crazy since she did the exam this morning. I am on crappy pain killers...Darvacett. They are not doing anything for me :-( I am currently on antibiotics for a sinus infection. I am also on another antibiotic to get rid of another cyst I have and if the antibiotic does not get rid of the cyst, I have to have it surgically removed(lanced). I think it is an outpatient surgery. No big deal. The bigger deal is the breast right now and my Papsmere results. It won't be long before they call with the abnormal results and make me go back for YET ANOTHER Colposcopy and MORE biopses. I do not understand why they wait for cervical precancerous cells to turn cancerous before they do something about it!!!!!! I am so upset about that! They can stop the cancer now and they won't!!!!!! But when I see the specialist I am going to take that into my own hands. I am going to demand a TOTAL HYSTERECTOMY and I still have my doctor referral from Vermont to back me up. Texas is a bad place for health insurance help. I have looked high and low for insurance here. Nobody will cover us (not even private insurances) because my husband has thyroid carcinoma with lymphnode invovlment. That is sooooo not fair. This all started out with Endomtriosis condition in my teens. I am now 32 years old, over a year ago I am told I have cervical precancer cells and I am in the highest risk category for it to turn into cancer instead of going back to normal. Okay so now...Endometriosis, Severe Cervical Dysplasia w/ascus. And now my breasts???????? What next?????? I am trying to be patient and calm but it seems like every time I turn around something else is put on my plate. I am losing my mind. Now I am doing the waiting game. Waiting is the worse. I just wanna lay on my bed, cover my head, and pretend I do not even exist. I am too young for any of this. My kids are not even grown up yet. I am in pain every single day from the Endometriosis. I am always wondering "IF" and "WHEN" they will tell me I have cancer. I have a huge history of several types of cancers on both my Mothers side and Fathers side of the family. Including an Aunt from EACH side with breast cancer. I am praying to the Lord this will ALL blow over because I cannot deal with this anymore. I said before that I am losing my mind but let me change that to " I have lost my mind". Has anyone else had to deal with sooo many medical conditions all at once? and if so how do you deal with this? Sorry so long....... ScottsAngel

Too many medical conditions at once :-(
Whew! It's too much for a person to have to think about.
I hope you have a gyn. onc. since you have your history and the conditions you suffer from. Could you go to the health department and see if they would help you find how to get health insurance? I don't know much about that. Someone has to know how to help you. Maybe the state department of insurance?
You will be getting the info very soon, and that brings treatment plans. Hopefully, it won't be as bad as you may be thinking. There's a way to treat these things, and I'm hoping you will let us know what becomes of everything.

Too many medical conditions at once :-(
I have went to the state health department too. They say we make too much for health insurance through the state. I am going to end up doing a payment plan I hope. IF I can find a doctor willing to do so. Where I went today is a womans clinic and the appointment was free (thank God) but they are not really able to help me, only with papsmeres and blood tests. My conditions are much more serious than what they can do....Thats what she told me today. She did have me sign a referral for local doctors in my area. She said there are doctors around here that will do the payment plan with me. Lots of phone calls and Office visits ahead of me in between my 2 jobs. :-(

Too many medical conditions at once :-(
So so sorry you have such a full plate of health issues to deal with. Nothing is worse than being in this kind of limbo. When I was going through my pre op testing immediately after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer my CT scan revealed suspicious spots on my liver which required two additional CT scans over a six month period to finally determine these spots were benign. While this all was going on my internal medical doctor found a nodule on my thyroid which had to be biopsied and fortunately found to be benign. To add more icing to the cake I got a mammogram call back for a suspicious area which required more testing which spanned over a few months as well. From the stress and anxiety from all of the above I developed a serious panic disorder which rendered me a complete basket case until I received counseling and medication to enable me to better cope. Unfortunately the emotional component related to being faced with a life threatening illness is often put on the back burner. But continuous high level stress and anxiety affects us physiologically raising our cortisol levels which can negatively affect all our bodily processes. If you are emotionally overwhelmed do not be afraid to ask for help.

Too many medical conditions at once :-(
Wow, you really do have alot going at once but I think that you need to gather up all your thoughts and records and get a second opinion from an oncologist/gynecologist. Please do not fear the name. They are the only experts in the gynecological field and will tell you exactly what to do. He or she may also order different types of tests, one being an abdominal/pelvic cat scan.
Please keep us up to date.
Also wanted to let you know that I love the name "ScottsAngel". My oldest sons name is Scott and he has been my angel thru my journey.

Deep breath, Nancy, this seems like way too much for one person to deal with. Try not to think too far down the road, just one day at a time or it will be too overwhelming.
Just wanted to offer some 's and let you know I'll be praying for you.

I will keep ya'll informed. I do have to get another opinion. I just want the Hysterectomy. It will kill 3 birds with one stone. I am tired of the pain from the Endometriosis. Rosalie, My Scott is my husband. He has been my support through all of this. He went to my appointment with me yesterday. He put the assertiveness in the conversation with the doctor. I am not very assertive. I am glad your son has been so supportive for you Rosalie. The Lord blesses us with children whether they are born from us or through adoption. (we have an adopted son). We give them life but they give us happiness and joy. Its a beautiful thing. My love and prayers to all of my sisters.

Whew! This is too much to have to deal with all at once. Some deep breaths and then try one thing at a time. Hopefully you can find a gyn/onc who will take payments, as this is the Dr. you need for the hysterectomy. The insurance system has to change--people who make too much but not enough to afford insurance (if they can get it) or medical care are going through a huge crack in the system!

ScottsAngel,
It's so hard when you're not feeling well to muster the energy it takes to deal with "the system." But, you do have Scott there by your side, and your son, as well, so take heart. It sounds as if you're pretty new the place you're living. Definitely, see if you can find a gyn/onc. Also, if you know some people there fairly well, ask around for some references for doctors and counselors. Sounds as if you're in a period of both pain and high anxiety, which can certainly amplify all you're going through. You're in my prayers.
