Who is this new body???

Hi members,
I am new to this site and I have been going through so much the past few months. I had a hysterectomy(complete) 5 months ago and now I live in a new body with emotions that are so different. My husband tries to understand but it's hard. I had severe endometriosis at 37 so this was the only option after several other less drastic measures that didn't work. Since the surgery, I cry and cry...... I've lost my job, and now it is difficult to even get back on my feet. Coincidence??? not sure. I am usually a very happy go lucky person but not lately. Has anyone else been through that?? Feeling this way seems silly to me because I was all for this surgery. It was a relief to get rid of the disease I had for so long. Now this. Any suggestions? I thought this would go away by now.

Who is this new body???

Madla, we are glad that you found us. You have come to the right place for information and support. The sisters are great. You could be suffering from depression or it could be hormonal. You need to discuss this with your dr, he can help you if you let him know what is going on. I had a rough time after my tah with the crying and the emotional roller coaster, my dr put me on anti-depressants. That has made a big difference. Let us know what you find out. I am sending you big and hope you get to feeling like yourself soon. Carol

Madla

Sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult time lately. You should speak to your GP about these matters. I don't have any personal experience to share, but I am sure the ladies here could help. Good Luck and God Bless

Who is this new body???

Madla,
I too am 5 mos. I have had an extremely hard time w/ my emotions too. I started on anti-depressants about 5 weeks ago. It has helped a ton. I no longer cry all the time. I still think I have some issues, but nothing compared to before. I would go talk to your Dr. and see if he can help you. I think some of us take a little longer to adjust to surgery than others. I dont know. Hope you get feeling better soon.

who is this new body???

Thanks for the response!! I THINK I have plans on seeking help but time is an issue. With 4 teenage boys ....well that explains it. No time to shut down. Must work, clean house, laundry, food shopping, schedule appointments, take care of mother-in-law, etc. I try to get the kids involved in helping but it doesn't always go so smooth. It is easier to do it yourself.
If I read an article like this one, I would know exactly what to say.
1) Tell everyone to get involved in helping.--Been there, done that.
2) Spend more time for yourself--Tried that, doesn't work.
3) Seek help--Tried that too.-- Dr. says try # 1 and 2.

The emotinal rollersoaster is rediculous. I take "alora", an estrogen replacement but I don't know if it is effective. I spoke to the Dr. about it and he said anything else would give me worse side effects.
?????????????????????? Thanks again everyone for responding.
