Reaction to Vivelle?

Has anyone broke out in hives from Vivelle patch? I break out every night in hives. Not during the day just at night.

Reaction to Vivelle?

I have had problems with extreme itchiness on my arms, not actual hives but just itching like crazy. When I lowered the dose of my patch, the itching stopped! ALSO, my inability to sleep has been relieved by lowering the dose of the patch!

As far as water retention, I absolutely believe too much estrogen can cause that and if you still have your ovaries and are using the patch you might need to have your level checked. I would insist on it if I were you.

I had a complete hysterectomy (ovaries removed) on July 12, 2005. They sent me home without any hormones. I did great with the surgery but 2 weeks after was put back into hospital for diverticulitis because I had so much trouble with my bowels moving (spent 4 days on antibotics while in hospital). I spent 5 weeks sweating, freezing and then the depression set in. I called my doctor and she put me on vivelle patch o.50. I'm doing better but I'm wondering whats causing me to breakout every night in hives. It might just be stress or something else besides the patch. Thanks for your feedback!

Reaction to Vivelle?

How interesting; I've not thought of this. I have what appears to be hives on my neck. But I colored my hair last week and I'm prone to contact dermatitis. You could go to the Vivelle website and look under "adverse reactions". Other than this, I've done really well on the dot in the five weeks I've been using it.
