4wks post op and checking in

It has been awhile since I have posted. Special thanks to Beachlady, Slyragz, Bernadetterolie,Jeanne,Jaroli and
others who answered my posts. I am 4 wks and 1 day
post op today. It has been a real struggle but am finally beginning to have some "normal moments". Bladder is now functioning without self cathing and like others have expressed here I will never take peeing for
granted again! Still very slow at times, the hints and suggestions given to me about this issue have been soooo helpful! I think I tried them all! It just seemed
to take forever, well 3+ weeks felt like forever!

Along with that my bowels still are not working well.
Constantly constipated and I have read all the posts I
could find on that subject and tried many of them. Dr
says to give it time, gave me a recipe to help which I
have not tried yet. Still taking colace, prunes, prune
juice lots of water, etc. Tried Metamucill made matter
worse even with gallons of water. Yesterday was so bad
was walking the floor so much it made me ill. Felt like the day after surgery almost. Saw Dr this morning says
I am healing well but it will take more time and reminded me it has only been 4 wks. When do the bowels get better? When I eat I get pains in my upper
stomach I never had before. Any one else problems eating? I am also putting milled flaxseed on my food plus taking 2 tblsps of flax oil is this too much? I am
walking as much as possible but when I am on my feet
a lot I get very fatiqued and feel lousy all over.

The dr today gave me a prescription for an estrogen patch he said would help me heal faster and help with the fatique. Any body out there tried this for healing and tiredness? I am post menopausal so don't know if
I want to do this.

This is really long, but just wanted to finally get back online and say hello and thanks for all the help. This is
a great site!

4wks post op and checking in

Hi,

You are very early post op and a lot of healing is still going on and so it takes time to work all the kinks out of the body so to speak.

I would try what the dr suggests and see how you feel.

My bowels, sleep patterns, soreness, easily fatiqued and not my self emotionally took months to get worked out.

Hang in there, time has a way of healing. It is important to rest and not overdo or it is one step forward and two steps backward for some of us.
