Can anyone explain why these Dr.s don't do all this repair work when they do these hysterectomies? I feel
sure there is evidence that they are there, even if they
are not full blown, they should be able to see that it
needs repair. I had a vagina vault suspension with repair
of enterocele a year ago and now have a rectocele,
which I am sure I had at that time, because I had the
same symptoms then. But I do feel some relief from the
use of the bio-identicals.

(((slt))) That's a good question and one I wondered about myself. I think that the answer is that, unless a doctor is specifically looking for possible prolapses at time of surgery, they wouldn't even see it during the hysterectomy. I also know that things can change dramatically in a very short time, therefore it could be that the prolapse was not present during initial surgery or that it was too minor to diagnose without specifically looking for it.

I don't know why they do this. I had a very small rectocele before surgery. Dr was leaning towards not doing anything and seeing if it would improve after H and me doing kegels. I told him to just fix it now before it gets worse. I'm so glad that he did fix it. That part of me feels so much better.

Just a note, I just visited a site that might explain some things about
the prolapses, with all the cele's. A Dr. in Atlanta performs all these, and is quite renowned. But the site explains the different techniques
that can be done, which ones are better. It is quite informative.

I also was thinking the same thing!! When I had my hyst/bladder sling, I had a GYN for the hyst and a Uro come in after and do the sling....I remember when I went to the Uro for the consult he's the one who recomended a Hyst with A and P repair.....The GYN decided to only do the hyst....It really makes you wonder .....is it to keep you coming back??I can't imagin them doing that,...or would they?? It is really difficult for me to believe a medical person
would compromise someone's health, and allow them to
suffer with so much pain, not to mention what it does
to our relationships at home with our families. And also
our work, our livlihood,quality of life. My husband believes they do this to make more money. These people are suppose to be here to heal us and make us
better. I just don't know how they can justify their
actions, maybe there is a reason. Maybe it is an insurance issue. But the least they could do is inform us
on why. If you look at all these posts, you'll see how
many women have had to have these piece-meal surgeries. And failures of the prolapse surgeries.
