Nail & Toe Polish?

Silly question! I have acrylic nails and usually keep polish on both hand and toes, do I need to have them clear for the surgery? My DR hasn't said otherwise, but then again, I haven't been for my pre-op yet with her....My PS DR said it would be up to my DR....Any Comments?

Nail & Toe Polish?

I was given a pre-op check list form my dr and it says to remove finger nail polish on hands and toes. I know that every dr is different. I hope that this helps

Nail & Toe Polish?

My doctor said I could have toenail polish... so I treated myself to a pedicure yesterday and I now have purple nails, with cute white flowers on my big toes

Nail & Toe Polish?

I was told fingernail polish was a No No. Something to do with they look at the coloration of your nails??

Nail & Toe Polish?

Hi

Not sure about the toenails, but false fingernails and/or polish have to be removed. That little gadget they put over a finger (for pulse, temperature, oxygen levels, etc) won't work otherwise.

Good Luck!

Nail & Toe Polish?

I was told today at my pre-op that I could keep my toe nail polish (I'm so glad, because I can't stand "naked" toes!!) and I can wear my clean white socks into the OR, but I have to remove my fingernail polish...

Check with your dr. I have heard that they need to be able to see your toenails and fingernails to judge whether your circulation is right while you're under anesthesia and afterward. I wanted to do manicure/pedicure preop but changed my mind--it's not worth it if it's going to slow down their ability to treat you quickly and effectively.

Nail & Toe Polish?

I am planning on a pedicure, but nothing in my fingers (after I ask my doc). I am trying to figure out the appropriate OPI shade for this event...
