New Symptoms at 9 wks post op

I have felt kinda like I was getting the flu for the past 4 days. I was taking some flu OTC meds. It did not help at all. Ok so this morning when I woke up and went to the bathroom I saw that I was spotting light pink stuff. I did not sleep well last night due to the pain. That is nothing unusual though. But today I feel weak, still pain, achy, and all together not well at all. I called the Dr. and got an appt for Wednesday. They must not be to concerned about it. So what could it be. The amitriptyline he gave me for the past 2 wks does nothing for the pain. It only knocks me out. Even at 12.5 mgs. Could all this be related. I even feel like someone has beat me with a baseball bat. Thanks for listening. Sometimes I feel like the drs and nurses either think I am faking or think cause I ask for something for pain that I am addicted to it. Which I know is not the fact. I just want relief. And the OTC stuff does nothing for me. I just want to cry.   oh well .

If you're still in that much pain after 9wks (appox), I would really stress this at your appt. Maybe you have an infection or something. Sometimes we really have to advocate for ourselves and make our Drs listen.

I hope things get better and you are able to get your doctor to take you seriously.

I think I would want to see the Dr. SOONER! If you are in so much pain this far along post op, you could have an infection. I had a post op infection at 1 week post op and it felt like I had the flu. The first day of it I felt feverish and so fatiqued. I would do someting for 1/2 a minute and would collapse on the bed or floor or wherever I could get. Had slight cramping at that time too. Second day I was so tired and feverish and the cramping was soooo bad I wanted to die. Third day I finally went to the ER, and they did blood work and CT and everything indicated a infection, so I was treated with IV antibiotics and anti-infective for 3 days, then sent home for another 7 days round of prescriptions.

You could just be fighting the flu or nasty bug, but with the pain you are describing with the surgery, you need to see Dr. sooner, if not your Dr. then the ER. Better to be safe than sorry. You really need to stress to the Dr. how much pain you are in from the surgery too!

Take care and HUGS! I hope you feel better soon!
